Turns out that Diane is the biggest reason that he came out of NFL retirement to join Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.

“Of course, it didn’t hurt that Tom went to Tampa and the opportunity was there to go to Tampa,” Rob shared during his interview. “Tom was like the appetizer, and there were a few other reasons – I love the weather.”

He added that the “main reason I came down to Tampa was because my mother lives two hours away.”

“She can get to all eight of my home games. Whenever I have days off, she’s two hours down the street and I get to see her. She’s super excited,” Rob added just seconds before the hug came.

If you recall, Rob followed Tom to the team shortly after the latter was traded.

Later on in the show, Rob participated in an at-home obstacles in a game called “What Can’t Gronk Do!?” After completing the tasks, he raised $10,000 for the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation.

Rob Gronkowski is opening up about returning to the NFL after a year off.

During a call with press, the football player revealed that he’ll miss not playing for New England Patriots anymore, but is looking forward to Tampa Bay.

“I’m very thankful for the 9 years I had with the New England Patriots,” Rob shared. “I’ve learned so much under that organization…I’m not going to sit here and say its an easy organization to play for.”

He continued, “I know that the NE Patriots, hands down, it is not the easiest place to play but it gets you right. It gets you mentally right, it gets you physically right … but I’m definitely going to take what I’ve learned … and apply it to my daily life, big time.”

Rob also opened up about heading to Tampa Bay with Tom Brady.

“Tom is like the appetizer of the whole meal. He got me hooked when he went down to Tampa.”

“Playing with Tom is special,” he shared. “We have a great chemistry out there and every time we get together, its just like the old days. It doesn’t matter if we take a month off or 6 months apart, we just go out there and we’re throwing the ball just like its a normal practice.”

“I saw what was down there. Just the opportunity to go down there and play with that type of offense. I mean they got some special wide receivers out there, they got other great tight end and let me tell you, I love working with tight ends too so I’m definitely looking forward to that, working with [OJ Howard and Cameron Brate]. That’s definitely going to be a special opportunity. Just blessed to be in this situation.”

The news that Rob was returning and heading to Tampa Bay broke over the weekend.

Rob Gronkowski is reportedly returning to the NFL after a year of retirement from the Patriots.

However, when he returns, it probably won’t be with that team.

ESPN is reporting that Rob told the Patriots, who he was still under contract with at the time of his retirement, that he wanted back in, but also wanted to reunite with Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The deal worked out says that the Patriots are trading both Rob and a seventh-round pick to the Buccaneers. In return, New England will get a fourth-round pick from Tampa.

Tom officially signed to Tampa Bay in March.

Tom Brady called his former teammate Rob Gronkowski‘s manhood “amazing” during a recent interview with Howard Stern, and now Gronk is reacting!

“Well, he did describe it as looking amazing, which I think is the biggest compliment of my career alongside playing with Tom,” Rob said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live! “I see some headlines that, you know, that he called my hot dog amazingly nice. So, you know, it kind of surprised me. But then, at the same time, I’m like it’s The Howard Stern Show. If you go on that show, anything is game at any time…even for Tom.”

Rob then said Tom‘s package is “not as nice as mine.” LOL!

The 30-year-old former Patriots tight end made his WWE debut at SmackDown on Friday night (March 2) to an empty stadium.

Friday night’s WWE event was held in an empty stadium without fans amid the ongoing pandemic and fears of spreading the virus.

However, the lack of fans didn’t stop Rob from bringing the energy. Gronk hit the arena dancing and talking smack, as if he was entertaining an entire crowd of people.

After retiring from the NFL in early 2019, Gronk recently finalized a deal to join the WWE as part of his next career move.

Gronk is scheduled to host the 2020 Wrestlemania – the WWE’s biggest of the year – in April.

The 30-year-old New England Patriots tight end is reportedly closing in on a deal with the wrestling organization, according to a Wrestling Sheet report on Tuesday (March 10).

The deal’s exact details are not yet known, and it’s unlikely that he will be a regular cast member. But according to the report, he may be appearing as soon as this month on Friday Night Smackdown in New Orleans.

He previously appeared at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, fighting alongside Mojo Rawley. He’s also been seen partying with WWE stars, including Triple H, during Super Bowl weekend.
