'Tenet' Movie Reviews Revealed - See What Critics Thought!

We’re just days away from Christopher Nolan‘s highly anticipated movie Tenet being released in areas across the globe and the first reviews have been released!

A select group of critics were given the chance to see the movie before the rest of the world and the Rotten Tomatoes score at the time of this posting is a strong 82% fresh rating.

Even though the film currently has a high score, there are only 38 reviews and the number could change when more reviews are posted. Most of the reviews out there right now seem to be mixed. The website’s critics consensus says, “A visually dazzling puzzle for film lovers to unlock, Tenet serves up all the cerebral spectacle audiences expect from a Christopher Nolan production.”

TheWrap‘s Nicholas Barber said, “In the end, Tenet isn’t one of Nolan‘s most satisfying films. But after I’ve seen it four or five more times, maybe I’ll change my mind.”

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Leslie Felperin said, “Altogether, it makes for a chilly, cerebral film – easy to admire, especially since it’s so rich in audacity and originality, but almost impossible to love, lacking as it is in a certain humanity.”

The Guardian‘s Catherine Shoard said, “The world is more than ready for a fabulous blockbuster… It’s a real shame Tenet isn’t it.”

Tenet will hit select theaters in the U.S. on September 3.

The film was reportedly seven weeks into production when filming was shut down amid the pandemic.

The movie is “said to be a grittier and more realistic take on the Dark Knight mythos” and “has approximately three months of material left to shoot. It could potentially be wrapped by the end of 2020.”

Crew members have been building sets for the film this month, ahead of the planned filming.

The cast for The Batman also includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred and Peter Sarsgaard in a not-yet-known role.

Robert Pattinson Auditioned for One of Chris Evans' Memorable Roles

Chris Evans is best known for his work as Captain America, but before starring in that movie he made a memorable appearance in the cult favorite Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Edgar Wright, the director of the movie, says that Robert Pattinson also auditioned for the role of Lucas Lee and he had a much different take on the character.

“I remember it vividly,” Edgar told Vanity Fair. “He did a much more intense read of it as well. Obviously, Robert is an incredible actor and someone who I’d love to work with now. But it was a very different take from what Chris did.”

“I remember we were asking him about Twilight, and he was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t know. I just saw it. It’s okay, I guess. I don’t know,’” casting director Allison Jones added. “He was really good at an American accent.”

Robert Pattinson Says 'Tenet' Co-Star John David Washington Helped Him Get In Shape For 'The Batman'

Robert Pattinson opened up in a brand new interview about how he juggled his screen tests for The Batman, while filming Tenet at the exact same time.

The 34-year-old actor chatted with Irish Times and revealed that he actually tried to trick director Christopher Nolan about his whereabouts while at the screen test.

“It’s funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies,” he started off. “Then I had to be really secretive about Batman stuff. So I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test — I said I had a family emergency. And as soon as I said ‘it’s a family emergency’ he said: ‘You’re doing the Batman audition, aren’t you?’”

It all worked out in the end with Robert getting the role.

He also revealed that working on Tenet with John David Washington helped him out in getting the Batman role, too.

“When I’m running on screen I’m generally paired with John David who is an ex-NFL player so it was the most unfair thing in the world,” Robert says. “The maximum workout I do most of the time is a casual stroll. John David can run all day long.”

He added, “It was good that I ended up being pretty fit. But definitely, at the beginning, there were days I just could not walk afterwards.”

If you didn’t see, the release date for Tenet was pushed back again. See when the movie is set to hit US theaters here…
