Rosie O'Donnell Was Sexually Abused By Her Father When She Was a Child

Rosie O’Donnell reveals in the upcoming book, “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View’” by Variety’s New York bureau chief Ramin Setoodeh, that she was sexually abused by her father when she was a child.

“It started very young,” Rosie said about her dad Edward Joseph. “And then when my mother died, it sort of ended in a weird way, because then he was with these five children to take care of. On the whole, it’s not something I like to talk about. Of course, it changes everyone. Any child who is put in that position, especially by someone in the family, you feel completely powerless and stuck, because the person you would tell is the person doing it.”

When Rosie was 10 she lost her mom Roseann to breast cancer. Her father died in 2015.

“Ladies Who Punch” will be released on April 2.

During the show, Andy Cohen asked Rosie what it was like to have the President of the United States criticize her.

Donald Trump‘s opinion of me? Not really relevant. But when he got to be president, it was very trippy. It took me about six months to regain my equilibrium. I feel like I felt through the ice and I just was waiting to resurface,” she said.

“I told the truth about him ten years ago at a time when anyone could have find out those truths about him. But the media decided not to print it while he was running – not to talk about the fact that there was no equivalence between him and Hillary Clinton. They acted like he was a legitimate candidate, so I feel like mainstream media is really responsible.”

Rosie O'Donnell Is In Love with Woman 22 Years Her Junior

Rosie O’Donnell is dating someone who is 22 years younger than her – and she’s in love!

“It’s the first time I’ve dated someone younger than me,” the 55-year-old comedian told The Howard Stern Show on Monday (November 6). “It’s a very trippy thing.”

“I get along so well with her, it’s kind of fascinating,” she continued. “The one thing that she doesn’t know? [Barbra] Streisand. I made her watch Funny Girl. She’s like, ‘It was good.’ I’m like, ‘Come on!’ ”

However, Rosie said she’d never get married again.

“You knew [ex wife] Michelle [Rounds], and that was a very troubled situation,” Rosie continued. “And for me, being 55, I just think I would rather stay in it for love and not have to deal with lawyers if, God forbid, it shouldn’t work out.”

Michelle died of an apparent suicide in September.
