Ruby Rose is opening up about working with Jason Statham and crushing on his longtime love Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The 34-year-old actress was asked about working with Jason on The Meg and if she ever was distracted by his good looks, despite being gay.

“He’s hot, and maybe it would have been tough if I was given the chance to only work with Jason, but the thing is he brought his wife, Rosie Huntington, and I’m just saying the distraction was elsewhere. Have you seen her?!” Ruby said on SiriusXM’s The Jason Ellis Show.

While Ruby did refer to Rosie as Jason‘s wife, it’s never been confirmed that they are married. The couple has been together for 10 years now!

Ruby recently revealed what played a factor in her decision to leave The CW’s Batwoman series.

Ruby Rose is speaking more about her decision to leave Batwoman after one season starring on The CW show.

During an interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, she was asked if her back injury contributed to the decision.

“That definitely made going back to work, you know, so quickly tricky. But they really accommodated trying to help me out the best they could, going back so early. Cause we wanted to obviously meet the, the release date of the show,” Ruby said.

“I think what played a bigger part was more, we got shut down early. We didn’t get to finish the first season, which is such a shame, especially for a first season show…and then we went into lockdown with COVID and thinking of in quarantine and locked down, there was a lot of thought and reflection and kind of everyone did it. You know, we all kind of thought about where we’re at… we were discussing the show and we had a conversation and, you know, I had a great time on Batwoman. I am so proud of what we achieved. We set out to achieve something pretty significant, you know, the first ever live action Batwoman and the first ever, you know, out gay superhero, her and Kate Kane. And I love that character and the whole experience, but we did have a discussion and we sort of mutually agreed that probably what was best for the show, um, at the time was they go in a different direction and I go in a different direction,” she continued.

She added, “It was tough cause it was sad cause we will love each other, but also it made sense for so many different reasons. And you know, I think at the end of the day, like, Oh, I’m really excited to watch season two. I think the show is great. I love the cast. I’m still in contact with everyone, but it was, it was a decision that we, we talked about, we discussed, we slept on. Um, but at the time with all that reflection, it just seemed like the right thing to do.”

A source spoke out on the rumored reason why Ruby Rose departed just after the announcement was made.

Ruby Rose is taking over the action world!

The first trailer for the 34-year-old actress’s movie, The Doorman, was released this week.

The movie centers on a former Marine turned doorman at a luxury New York City high-rise must outsmart and battle a group of art thieves and their ruthless leader – while struggling to protect her sister’s family.

The Doorman will be out on Digital and On Demand October 9 and on Blu-ray and DVD October 13.

Ruby also just signed on to star opposite Morgan Freeman in Vanquish, Deadline reports.

Currently filming on location in Biloxi, Mississippi, Vanquish follows a retired police commissioner (Freeman) who blackmails his caretaker (Rose) by kidnapping her daughter, forcing her into helping him double cross his team of dirty detectives in an attempt to clean up the city.

Just recently, Ruby opened up about the things that contributed to her leaving her leading role on Batwoman.

Ruby Rose is speaking up again about her decision to leave Batwoman, which shocked many fans back in May.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 34-year-old actress explained that having surgery on her back, plus the pandemic led her to re-evaluate her decision to either remain or leave the series.

“Being the lead of a superhero show is tough. Being the lead in anything is tough,” Ruby says. “But I think, in that particular instance, it was a lot more difficult because I was still recovering from my surgery. I had my surgery and then 10 days later I went to work, which maybe wasn’t the best idea. Most people take about a month or three off before they return to work.”

She added that the because of the pandemic shutting production down, it was a “great opportunity to have a dialogue about a lot of things [with the producers]. I respect them so much and they’ve been so respectful to me…I would definitely do [TV] again. I just think that it was also time for me to take a break to fully heal and then return.”

Ruby also spoke up about the network casting Javicia Leslie as new lead, Ryan Wilder.

“She seems fantastic,” she says. “Honestly, I was so proud and so happy when I was told who would be replacing me…I’m definitely going to watch the next season as well and see how it all comes together.”

The former star of the CW series headed to her Instagram page to congratulate Javicia Leslie.

“OMG!! This is amazing!! I am so glad Batwoman will be played by an amazing Black woman. ❤️ I want to congratulate Javicia Leslie on taking over the bat cape. You are walking into an amazing cast and crew. I can’t wait to watch season 2 you are going to be amazing !! ❤️,” Ruby captioned a photo of Javicia.

Javicia added a reaction to her own page, writing “for all of the little black girls dreaming to be a superhero one day… it’s possible!”

Batwoman will return for a second season this fall.

It was revealed last week that Ruby Rose‘s character in the Batwoman CW show would not be recast, and instead, a new character would be introduced.

“To be honest with you, I did consider the ‘soap opera version’ [of recasting] for a hot minute, because selfishly we already had a couple episodes written, and transition-wise it would be seamless,” showrunner Caroline Dries explained (via TV Line). “But upon further reflection — and I think [Arrowverse EP] Greg [Berlanti] helped me make this call — he’s like, ‘I think we should just reboot Batwoman as a different character.’”

Caroline added that they wanted to “respect to everything that Ruby [Rose] put into the Kate Kane character…it also helps the audience, because we’re not asking them to address ‘the elephant in the room’” by accepting a new face as the same person.”

The new character, Ryan Wilder, is “a whole new character who in her past was inspired by Batwoman, so she is going to take on the mantle…[she] is maybe not the right person at the time to be doing it, so that’s what makes it fun.” Find out a lot more about Ryan Wilder right here.
