Salma Hayek makes an appearance on Armchair Expert, the podcast hosted by Dax Shepard and Monica Padman, where she speaks about an upsetting experience on the set of her big break, which was 1995′s Desperado.

Salma spoke about how she was not told there was an intimate sex scene between her character and Antonio Banderas‘ character.

“So, when we were going to start shooting, I started to sob/ I don’t know that I can do it. I’m afraid,” Salma recalled.

She continued, “One of the things I was afraid of was Antonio — he was an absolute gentleman and so nice, and we’re still super close friends — but he was very free. It scared me that for him, it was like nothing. I started crying, and he was like, ‘Oh my God. You’re making me feel terrible.’ And I was so embarrassed that I was crying.”

She also emphasized that director Robert Rodriguez and Antonio “were amazing” and that Robert “never put pressure on me.” But nevertheless, the experience was traumatic.

“I was not letting go of the towel,” she said. “They would try to make me laugh. I would take it off for two seconds and start crying again. But we got through it. We did the best with what we could do at the time.”

“When you’re not you, then you can do it. But I keep thinking of my father and my brother,” she added. “And are they going to see it? And are they going to get teased? Guys don’t have that. Your father will be, ‘Yeah! That’s my son!’”

Antonio and Salma have remained friends over the years and she even presented him with an award a few years back.

Salma Hayek is sharing some new details about her upcoming Marvel movie Eternals!

In a new interview, the 54-year-old actress admitted she didn’t know anything about the comic before landing the role in the movie.

“I was sworn to secrecy because I was one of the first people that they hired, but I had to keep it in a secret for a long, long time,” Salma shared on the Variety podcast “Just for Variety.”

“So, when I had the call, I said to them, ‘I confess. Eventually I will know everything that there is to know, but what are the Eternals? Do they exist in comics? I don’t know who’s Ajax.’” Salma recalled. “And then they explained everything to me. They explained me the script. They didn’t give me the script. I had to sign the contract without reading the script. They wouldn’t let me see the script until I signed. That was very unsettling.”

Salma then chatted about costume she wears in the upcoming Marvel movie directed by Chloe Zhao.

“Then I was afraid of the outfit. I’m claustrophobic,” Salma admitted. “I was very afraid that I was going to feel like I couldn’t move. It has a completely different DNA from the [other Marvel movies]. It’s shot different than all the other ones. It’s in real locations and they found some crazy extraterrestrial-looking locations. I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about what they do with the camera, but…it’s not mostly done in post. The cinematography is incredible.”

Despite her reservations, Salma says she finds her Eternals costume is “empowering.”

“It really moved me…It’s not because I’m putting on an outfit but we get the right to be superheroes today. I’m also 54,” Salma explained. “So there was something really moving, not just for me, but for everything, all the different stereotypes. She’s not sexy. You know what I’m saying? She’s not sexy at all. I’m very short. I’ve been bullied for being short my entire life. And suddenly, it doesn’t matter. You’re a superhero in the Marvel universe. It moved me.”

Salma stars in the Eternals alongside Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gemma Chan.

Eternals is scheduled to be released on November 5.

Salma Hayek is issuing a reaction to Alec Baldwin‘s wife Hilaria Baldwin‘s heritage scandal.

If you don’t remember, Hilaria came under fire a few weeks ago for misrepresenting her heritage and adopting a Spanish accent. She was actually born in Boston, Massachusetts, but many believed she was born in Mallorca, Spain due to interview articles and a bio on her own agency’s website.

“Oh my God. That is crazy,” Hayek said of all the controversy. “Like, you know what, because a lot of my friends ask me, ‘Oh, did you hear about this? Oh my God ….’ We all lie a little bit. She makes my friend happy,” Salma told Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.” Alec and Salma became friends after working together on 30 Rock.

“She’s a good, she fooled me,” she added. “And you know, I don’t care. She, I’m sorry. I know I don’t mean to betray or hurt anybody’s feelings. And I don’t know if it’s right or if it’s wrong and I don’t, I’m not gonna judge somebody just because of that one thing.”

Salma added, “I feel honored that somebody wants to be, their alter ego it’s to be like something that is similar to my roots. It makes me feel proud that people are inspired because you know, I am Mexican Lebanese, but my grandparents, my ancestors on my mother’s side are Spanish. I think she’s smart to want to be Spanish. We’re cool.”

Salma added it was all “bizarre,” but said, “She’s not, not a bad person, not a bad person, a good person, a good mother and a good wife. She makes my friend happy. She’s very kind to me. And that’s all I care about.”

Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek have teamed up for a new movie!

Owen, 52, and Salma, 54, star in the upcoming sci-fi love story Bliss directed by James D. Stern heading to Amazon Prime Video.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis: “Bliss is a mind-bending love story following Greg (Wilson) who, after recently being divorced and then fired, meets the mysterious Isabel (Hayek), a woman living on the streets and convinced that the polluted, broken world around them is nothing but a computer simulation. Doubtful at first, Greg eventually discovers there may be some truth to Isabel’s wild conspiracy.”

Bliss will be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 5.

Salma Hayek is ready for 2020 to be over!

The 54-year-old Like a Boss actress took to Instagram on Tuesday (December 29) to share a post reflecting on the past year.

“Last days of 2020. Never been more grateful for being healthy and in contact with nature,” Salma captioned the post.

Along with the message, Salma also shared a couple photos of herself posing on a beach while showing off her super hot bod while rocking a purple bikini.

Salma has been enjoying time out of the spotlight for the majority of the pandemic. Back in October, she was spotted masked up while attending a fashion event in London.

Earlier this year, Salma clapped back at a hater who told her she was using “too much Botox.” See how she responded!
