Sarah Hyland‘s parents have not yet met Wells Adams parents and now Wells is explaining why.

“My parents haven’t met Sarah‘s parents and for good reason,” Wells said on the Your Favorite Thing podcast. “They both fall on opposite sides of the political spectrum and I’m just sure someone’s going to get into a fight about something.”

He added that they will meet at their wedding (though they are not yet engaged), saying, “They are going to hang out one time and it’s going to be at the wedding and the directive is no one is allowed to talk about politics.”

“It will be liberal actors and my dad and my family who are a bunch of conservatives. My dad’s a doctor, my brother-in-law is from oil money in Texas. It’s going to be so weird,” Wells said.

Sarah Hyland made her debut appearance on The Tonight Show on Tuesday (February 26) and gushed all about her Bachelorette alum boyfriend Wells Adams with host Jimmy Fallon!

“Dude, I love Wells! He’s great, he’s from JoJo [Fletcher]‘s season,” Fallon exclaimed.

Jimmy then asked if Wells planned Bachelor-style dates for her: “For my 27th birthday we had only been dating a few months, not even, and he took me on this helicopter ride to Catalina Island and we went zip lining,” Sarah revealed. “… I was like, ‘This is amazing!’ Like, I’ve never had anybody do this for me ever and I went on a Bachelor date.”

“I’ve watched The Bachelor since the beginning, like, with my mom… My mom when we started dating was like, ‘I’m very happy about this. I already approve. I haven’t met him, but I already approve,’” Sarah continued. “I’m like, ‘You realize that people on reality shows are different in real life, right?’”

Earlier that day, Wells had one hope for the Oscars telecast but it did not come true!

“I hope Lady Gaga wins and Oscar tonight and Bradley Cooper follows her on stage and pisses himself. That would be neat. #Oscars2019,” he tweeted.

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams are celebrating Valentine’s Day with the sweetest messages for each other on social media!

The 28-year-old Modern Family actress and the 34-year-old former The Bachelorette contestant have been dating for a year and a half.

“With you I feel like I’m on top of the world & I’ll always catch you if you fall… no matter how high we climb. I love you to Pluto & back @wellsadams ❤️ I am so grateful and appreciative of everything you do for me. #happyvalentinesday #myperson,” Sarah captioned photos of them kissing on a mountain.

Wells shared this selfie of them at the beach and said, “Hey @sarahhyland, will you be my Valentine? I love you +1 more than anything you say.”
