Winston Duke stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday (March 19) and opened up about the preparation that went into playing two roles in Jordan Peele‘s Get Out follow-up horror, Us!

The 32-year-old actor revealed that he had to switch up his physicality so that his Us characters would not resemble his Black Panther character, M’Baku.

“He and I talked about essentially not feeling like M’Baku is in this movie. Because the family really couldn’t be in danger if M’Baku was around,” Winston explained. “So you know, we talked about changing my body and changing my physicality and we came up with, you know, let’s do a dad bod.”

“Let’s really lean into this comfortable guy who’s this all-American dad, working for the weekend, weekend warrior kind of guy,” Winston continued. “So that’s kind of what happened, and then the glasses happened, and before I knew it, I guess I was Jordan Peele.”

“So basically he said M’Baku would be too intimidating and you said, ‘Okay I’ll be you,” Seth joked.

Lupita Nyong’o is quite literally seeing red while stepping out for the UK screening of Us on Thursday (March 14) at Picturehouse Central in London, England.

The 36-year-old Oscar-winning actress wore blood red contact lenses that matched the dress she wore for the event.

Lupita was joined by co-star Winston Duke and writer and director Jordan Peele. The movie will be hitting theaters in the U.S. on March 22.

Winston Duke made his debut appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (March 13)!

The 32-year-old actor talked all about growing up in Tobago, making Jordan Peele‘s new thriller Us, and his mom living with him, going to work with him and keeping him humble after the success of Black Panther.

“It’s cool, especially around now because my life changed completely after Black Panther,” Winston told Jimmy. “Everyone changed expect for her so she’s always like, ‘you gotta take out the garbage’ and ‘who do you think you’re talking to’ and ‘you didn’t get famous, your beard did.’ She doesn’t let up.”

“Everyday almost, we are almost like best friends so she even comes on set with me. Everyday,” Winston continued. “I even bring her into meetings with my agents.”

It looks like Jordan Peele has another massive hit on the way as his movie Us is getting rave reviews in the first reviews following the SXSW premiere.

The premiere was held on Friday night and the full cast stepped out for interviews on Saturday (March 9) in Austin, Tex.

Jordan was joined by Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Evan Alex. They stopped by the Comcast NBCUniversal House and the #TwitterHouse.

In the first reviews of the film, Us is being hailed as a “modern masterpiece” and Peele is being compared to a modern-day Hitchcock. Critics are saying it’s one of those movies that you’ll want to see over and over to unlock all the mysteries.

The co-stars stepped out at the movie’s premiere during the 2019 SXSW Festival on Friday (March 8) in Austin, Tex.

They were also joined by writer and director Jordan Peele, who spoke out about the film during the Q&A session.

“I have a very clear commentary with this film. This movie is about this country. When I decided to write this movie, I was stricken with this movie at a time when we fear the ‘other’…the mysterious invader. We are all about pointing finger…maybe the evil is us,” Jordan said.

Other attendees included cast members Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex and Tim Heidecker.

Us hits theaters on March 21st.

The 32-year-old Black Panther actor brought his mother Donna to the 2019 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 24) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Black Panther is nominated for seven awards in the ceremony, including Best Picture.

The Oscars are being presented without a host for the first time in 30 years. The show kicks off at 8pm EST/5pm PST on ABC.
