Lady Gaga attends the LennonOno Grant For Peace Awards Ceremony on Tuesday (October 9) in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The 26-year-old entertainer was joined by Yoko Ono and was honored for her social activism and philanthropic ways.

“I will be donating this grant to the Elton John AIDS foundation and I will be working closely with them to ensure that the money goes specifically to those orphans and disadvantaged youth in America born with HIV or AIDS,” Gaga announced during her acceptance speech.

Plastic Ono Band was the loose supergroup of musicians that The Beatles’ John Lennon assembled 40 years ago. He would have turned 70 this week!

Saturday’s reconstituted version of the Plastic Ono Band also included Yoko and John‘s son Sean Lennon as well as Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth.
