Naomie Harris, Janelle Monae, & 'Moonlight' Stars Win Best Ensemble at Spirit Awards 2017!

Naomie Harris and Janelle Monae stun on the blue carpet at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The ladies were joined at the event by Moonlight co-stars Trevante Rhodes, Mahershala Ali, Alex R. Hibbert, Jaden Piner, and Jharrel Jermone, as well as writer-director Barry Jenkins.

The director and cast are being honored with the Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble at the event this afternoon.

Moonlight is up for a bunch of awards at the Oscars this weekend as well!

Janelle Monae Wins Best Breakout Performance At 2017 AAFCA Awards!

Moonlight and Hidden Figures are continuing their award ceremony sweep!

Star of both flicks Janelle Monae and Moonlight director Barry Jenkins stepped out together at the 2017 The African-American Film Critics Association Awards held at the Taglyan Complex on Wednesday (February 8) in Los Angeles.

While at the award ceremony, Janelle was honored with the Best Breakout Performance Award for her roles in Moonlight and Hidden Figures. Moonlight also took the big awards of the night with Best Picture, Best Independent Film and Best Director for Barry, 37.

Also in attendance at the event was Sanaa Lathan and Kendrick Sampson.

Naomie Harris, Ruth Negga, & Octavia Spencer Attend Oscars Luncheon 2017

Naomie Harris, Ruth Negga, and Octavia Spencer step out on the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Naomie, Mahershala Ali, and director Barry Jenkins represented Moonlight, Ruth represented Loving, and Octavia and Pharrell Williams represented Hidden Figures at the big annual event before the Oscars.

This year, the Academy Awards are set to air on February 26, 2017. Be sure to tune in!

Barry was nominated for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in

Naomie Harris 'Only Had Three Days' To Shoot Her Oscar-Nominated Role In 'Moonlight'!

Naomie Harris has earned her first-ever Oscar-nomination thanks to her critically acclaimed role in Moonlight – and it only took her THREE days to shoot it!

“I only had three days to shoot the movie. We shot the whole thing completely out of sequence,” the 40-year-old actress told W mag. “So I was going from older to younger middle age, all over the place. It was never meant to be like that. I was supposed to shoot, I think, over three weeks. But they couldn’t get my visa sorted, so it ended up being condensed into just three days.”

Barry [Jenkins] was so calming and reassuring and he just made me feel like it was perfectly possible to do this,” Naomie added. “And also I had done my research beforehand so I knew the character. I felt like I knew her inside out. I felt like I knew her more than any other character that I’ve played because I knew I had such little time on set.”

Mahershala Ali Wins at SAG Awards 2017, Talks About Becoming a Muslim (Video)

Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris hit the red carpet at the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 29) in Los Angeles.

Both actor were nominated individually for their work in the movie Moonlight and the full ensemble is up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Mahershala pulled off a win in the category for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. During his acceptance speech, he opened up being a Muslim and converting many years ago. Watch the full speech below!

Mahershala Ali & Isabelle Huppert Win at LA Film Critics Association Awards!

Moonlight‘s Mahershala Ali and Elle‘s Isabelle Huppert pose for photos at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City on Saturday evening (January 14) in Los Angeles.

Mahershala won the Best Supporting Actor Award and Isabelle won the Best Actress Award! Also winning that night were Certain Women‘s Lily Gladstone and Moonlight director Barry Jenkins.

La La Land director Damien Chazelle, composer Justin Hurwitz, and lyricists Justin Paul and Benj Pasek were also in attendance.
