Isabelle Huppert and Orlando Bloom walk off the stage together at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 63-year-old French actress won the award for Best Actress for her work in the movie Elle and Orlando present the prize to her.

Isabelle is nominated for an Oscar for her work in the film. Emma Stone, who is the other frontrunner in the category, was not eligible at the Spirit Awards as La La Land was not an independent film.

During the show, Orly sat in the audience alongside Freida Pinto and also met up with his friend Kate Beckinsale.

Casey Affleck uses his time at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards to get political.

While accepting the award for Best Male Lead for his role in Manchester by the Sea, the 41-year-old actor slammed Donald Trump‘s administration, calling it “un-American.”

“The policies of this administration are abhorrent and they will not last,” Casey said. “They are un-American.”

Casey was joined at the event by his Manchester co-star Lucas Hedges, director Kenneth Lonergan, and producer Matt Damon who was accompanied by his wife Luciana.

Also spotted at the awards show was Viggo Mortensen and his Captain Fantastic director Matt Ross.

Andy Samberg is dressed up in a wig and costume during a funny performance at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

Instead of doing an In Memoriam to pay tribute to all of the people in the industry who died over the past year, the show decided to do a “Not In Memoriam” to honor people still alive.

Andy did an impersonation of Eddie Vedder while singing Pearl Jam‘s song “Alive.” During the performance, the camera cut to celebs who were still alive and some of them even in the audience, like Matt Damon.

At the end, the camera cut to Fred Armisen, who was playing dead in his seat. Andy cut the music and then paid tribute to his friend as he got carried out of his chair. Watch below!

The best in independent film was honored at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The big winner at the event was Moonlight, which won all five awards it was nominated for including Best Feature. The film won six awards in total when you add in the previously announced Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble.

Another film that pulled off multiple wins was The Witch, which won Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay for writer-director Robert Eggers.

The winners of Best Male Lead and Best Female Lead are both up for Oscars, while the winners of Best Supporting Male and Best Supporting Female are not, so it will be interesting to see who wins tomorrow night!

The 34-year-old actress was joined on the blue carpet by her former Parks and Recreation co-star Aubrey Plaza.

Other stars spotted arriving a the event were Amanda Peet, Nasim Pedrad, Bitsie Tulloch, and Aisha Tyler.

Molly Shannon might have had the best moment of the afternoon at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The actress won the award for Best Supporting Female for her work as a cancer-stricken mom in the movie Other People and she ended her speech by doing her Superstar character Mary Katherine Gallagher’s signature move.

“I wanna say one more thing. I really, truly, in this moment feel like a… SUPERSTAR,” Molly said to end her acceptance speech.

Molly was so excited by her win that she ran off the stage and through the audience while holding her trophy in the air. Watch the video below!

Mahershala Ali looks so dapper on the carpet at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at the Santa Monica Pier on Saturday afternoon (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 43-year-old actor and his wife Amatus just welcomed their first child together on Wednesday and he might become an Oscar winner tomorrow night!

Mahershala was joined at the event by the cast of his movie Moonlight. They were honored with the Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble.
