Leonardo DiCaprio & Brad Pitt Step Out For Oscars Nominee Luncheon

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt step out for the annual luncheon in celebration of the 92nd Oscars in Hollywood on Monday afternoon (January 27).

The two nominated actors were joined by their Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director, Quentin Tarantino.

Other stars and directors in attendance were The Two PopesJonathan Pryce, The Irishman‘s Robert De Niro, Parasite‘s Bong Joon-Ho, Joker‘s Todd Phillips, and Jojo Rabbit‘s Taika Waititi.

1917‘s Sam Mendes, Dean-Charles Chapman, and George Mackay were also spotted inside the venue with Knives Out‘s Rian Johnson.

The 2020 Oscars will take place on Sunday, February 9.

Sam Rockwell, Chrissy Metz, & More Honor the Best Directors at DGA Awards 2020!

Sam Rockwell and Chrissy Metz appear on stage at the 2020 Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday (January 25) at the Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles.

Sam was at the event to honor his Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi, who was nominated for Best Director. Parasite‘s Bong Joon-ho received a tribute from the film’s star Lee Jeong-eun and The Irishman‘s Martin Scorsese (who did not attend) received a tribute from Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

Leonardo DiCaprio was at the event to honor Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s Quentin Tarantino while Sam Mendes won the Best Director award for 1917.

Honey Boy director Alma Har’el went home with the First-Time Feature Film Director award, which was presented by Catherine Hardwicke.

Bill Hader won Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for his work on Barry.

Some more nominated directors in attendance included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Queen & Slim‘s Melina Matsoukas, AtlanticsMati Diop, When They See UsAva DuVernay, El Camino‘s Vince Gilligan, and Fosse/Verdon‘s Thomas Kail.

More stars in attendance included Anthony Anderson, Constance Zimmer, Terry Crews, Katheryn Winnick, Byron Bowers, Judd Apatow, and Christine Lahti.

Jamie Foxx, Jordan Peele & More Get Special Honors at AAFCA Awards 2020!

Jamie Foxx and Jordan Peele happily hit the stage to speak at The African American Film Critics Association’s 2020 AAFCA Awards held at the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Wednesday (January 22) in Hollywood.

The guys along with Eddie Murphy (not pictured) were among some of the honorees at the 11th annual ceremony in Los Angeles.

“People say so much about the other awards, but it’s special when it comes from your own people,” Jamie said (via USA Today), who won best supporting actor for his role in Just Mercy.

“It’s just special,” Jamie added after receiving the award from the organization, which actively reviews films with an emphasis on projects that include the black experience. The awards mainly highlight films produced, written, directed and starring people from the African diaspora along with other ethnic projects that break new ground.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were Sterling K. Brown, Issa Rae, Lena Waithe, Bong Joon Ho, Melina Matsoukas, Lil Rel Howery, Garcelle Beauvais and Trevor Jackson.

A Black & White Version of 'Parasite' Is Coming To Theaters

Parasite, which recently won a SAG Award for Best Cast in a Motion Picture, is headed back to theaters.

This time though, the flick, from director Bong Joon-Ho, will be in black and white.

Deadline reports that the movie will debut in Los Angeles at the Egyptian Theater January 31, and at the Walter Reade Theater in New York on January 30. It will then screen at the Francesca Beale Theater January 31 through February 6.

The black and white version of Parasite was created prior to the film’s premiere in Cannes, where it won the Palme d’Or.

Parasite also grabbed six (6) Oscar nominations.

Directors Quentin Tarantino & Lulu Wang Get Honored at Final Draft Awards!

Quentin Tarantino throws up the peace sign while hitting the carpet at the 2020 Final Draft Awards held at the Paramount Theatre on Tuesday (January 21) in Hollywood.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director celebrated the art of screenwriting during his induction into the Final Draft Hall of Fame at the award ceremony.

Quentin revealed filmmaker Walter Hill was his inspiration to become a screenwriter: “Walter was one of my biggest heroes growing up,” he said (via Variety). “I had only read two scripts and they were so effing dry. But when I read ‘Hard Times,’ it wasn’t just description. It wasn’t just a blue print for how to do the movie. I was supposed to make the movie in my mind. When the script was over and I put it down, I saw the movie.”

The Farewell director Lulu Wang was also honored at the event with the new voice award for film, presented by Parasite filmmaker Bong Joon Ho.

The awards show, which honors the year’s best in screenwriting and is presented by popular screenwriting software program Final Draft, also recognized Pose creator Steven Canals with the New Voice Award for TV presented by his stars Angel Bismark Curiel and MJ Rodriguez.

'Parasite' Becomes First Foreign Film to Win Best Cast at SAG Awards 2020 (Video)

The cast of Parasite makes history at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards!

Jang Hye-jin, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Jung Hyun-joon, Jung Ji-so, Lee Jung-eun, Lee Sun-kyun, Park So-dam, and Song Kang-ho took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

This makes Parasite the first foreign language film to win the award!

It beat out Bombshell, The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Jojo Rabbit.

Backstage, director and writer Bong Joon-Ho said about the film’s Oscar chances through his translator (via Deadline), “It is true that the momentum is building, and we are a part of the awards race, but I think today was truly important as these actors were acknowledged by fellow peers and that’s the greatest joy of this night. With regard to the Oscars, no one can predict what will happen.”

'Booksmart' Stars Win Big at Hollywood Critics Association Awards 2020!

Olivia Wilde accepts one of her several awards at the 2020 Hollywood Critics’ Association Awards on Thursday night (January 9) at Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles.

Booksmart was a big winner at the event with Olivia taking home Best Female Director, the movie tying for Best Comedy/Musical and Kaitlyn Dever winning Best Performance by an Actress 23 and Under. Olivia was also honored with the Trailblazer Award!

Also in attendance at the event were Jojo Rabbit‘s Taika Waititi (winner of Best Adapted Screenplay), Honey Boy director Alma Har’el (winner of Best First Feature) with the film’s actor Byron Bowers, The Farewell‘s Shuzhen Zhao, Parasite director Bong Joon-ho (winner of Best Original Screenplay), The Peanut Butter Falcon‘s Zack Gottsagen (winner of the Newcomer Award), and Richard Jewell‘s Paul Walter Hauser (winner of the Game Changer Award).

The “Next Generation of Hollywood” was honored at the event and some of the recipients who attended included Kaitlyn, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Geraldine Viswanathan, Brooklynn Prince, Millicent Simmonds, Mckenna Grace, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Thomasin McKenzie.

FYI: Thomasin is wearing a Markarian dress.
