Congrats to Michelle Williams!

The 39-year-old SAG winning actress just welcomed her first child with husband Thomas Kail!

Michelle and Thomas met and worked together on FX’s Fosse/Verdon and soon started up a relationship, becoming engaged in only a few months. The two married in a secret ceremony in March.

“They’re very happy and thrilled to be bringing a baby into the world,” a source shared with US Weekly about the pair’s relationship status last year. “They would like to be married by the time that happens.”

There’s no news about the gender or name of the baby, at the moment. Stay tuned for those details, soon.

Michelle is also mom to Matilda Ledger, 14, who is her only child with the late Heath Ledger.

Michelle and Thomas made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the start of the year.

A new film version of the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof is in the works with Hamilton director Thomas Kail set to direct!

The original Broadway production of Fiddler opened back in 1964 and won nine Tony Awards. The first film version was released in 1971 and it was nominated for eight Oscars, winning three of them.

Steven Levenson, the Tony-winning book writer of Dear Evan Hansen, will write the screenplay for the film. Dan Jinks, the Oscar-winning producer of American Beauty and Milk, and Aaron Harnick, the nephew of Fiddler‘s lyricist Sheldon Harnick, are set to produce for MGM.

Kail said in a statement to Deadline, “It has been a life-long dream of mine to direct Fiddler, though I always imagined I would do it on stage. I am over-joyed to have the opportunity to make a new film version of my favorite show with Mike DeLuca at MGM, where so many transcendent musical movies have been made. I’m proud to partner with Dan Jinks, Aaron Harnick and my great pal, Steven Levenson, to honor this work that has profoundly inspired me and millions of others.”

Jinks added, “I first saw Fiddler On The Roof onstage when I was 13 years old. I remember finding it hilarious funny, but also incredibly moving. It’s that rare musical that speaks to audiences of all ages. I’m thrilled that Mike DeLuca and MGM are giving the brilliant Tommy Kail, Steven Levenson, Aaron Harnick and me the opportunity to bring this amazing piece to a new generation of audiences.”

The Oscar nominee, 39, and the director, 43, were spotted wearing what appeared to be wedding rings in new photos and Us Weekly has apparently confirmed that they are married.

Michelle is currently pregnant with the couple’s first child. They met on the set of her show Fosse/Verdon.

Sam Rockwell and Chrissy Metz appear on stage at the 2020 Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday (January 25) at the Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles.

Sam was at the event to honor his Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi, who was nominated for Best Director. Parasite‘s Bong Joon-ho received a tribute from the film’s star Lee Jeong-eun and The Irishman‘s Martin Scorsese (who did not attend) received a tribute from Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

Leonardo DiCaprio was at the event to honor Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘s Quentin Tarantino while Sam Mendes won the Best Director award for 1917.

Honey Boy director Alma Har’el went home with the First-Time Feature Film Director award, which was presented by Catherine Hardwicke.

Bill Hader won Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for his work on Barry.

Some more nominated directors in attendance included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Queen & Slim‘s Melina Matsoukas, Atlantics‘ Mati Diop, When They See Us‘ Ava DuVernay, El Camino‘s Vince Gilligan, and Fosse/Verdon‘s Thomas Kail.

More stars in attendance included Anthony Anderson, Constance Zimmer, Terry Crews, Katheryn Winnick, Byron Bowers, Judd Apatow, and Christine Lahti.

Also in attendance at the event was Michelle‘s Fosse/Verdon co-star Sam Rockwell with his longtime love Leslie Bibb. If you didn’t know, Thomas directed the limited series!

Michelle is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries and Sam is up for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries.

Michelle and Thomas are currently expecting their first child together.
