Edie Falco to Play Hillary Clinton in Ryan Murphy's 'Impeachment' Series About Monica Lewinsky

Edie Falco will be playing the role of Hillary Clinton in the upcoming FX limited series Impeachment: American Crime Story.

The new show is Ryan Murphy‘s latest installment in his Emmy Award-winning anthology series and this season will follow the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.

Clive Owen will be playing Bill and Beanie Feldstein is playing Monica. Other cast members include Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones, and Billy Eichner as journalist Matt Drudge. Collider first reported the news of Falco‘s casting.

The previous installments in the American Crime Story series were The People v O.J. Simpson, which aired in 2017, and The Assassination of Gianni Versace, which aired in 2018. A season about the Bush administration’s handling of Hurricane Katrina was in the works, but plans were scrapped.

The 38-year-old Mr. Robot actor, the 50-year-old Living with Yourself star, and the 50-year-old Game of Thrones actor all stepped out for the event held at BAM Harvey Theater on Thursday (January 30) in New York City.

They were joined by Peter‘s wife Erica Schmidt, Nurse Jackie‘s Edie Falco and Stephen Wallem, Younger‘s Debi Mazar, For Life‘s Timothy Busfield, GirlsBecky Ann Baker, and theater producer Jordan Roth.

Medea, starring real-life couple Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale, “uses the true-life crime case of American Debora Green, who poisoned her cheating husband and killed two of her three children in 1995.”

Ben McKenzie Gets Support from Wife Morena Baccarin at His 'Grand Horizons' Broadway Debut Opening!

Ben McKenzie is all smiles in a suit while attending the opening night party for his Broadway debut in Grand Horizons held at The Ribbon restaurant on Thursday (January 23) in New York City.

The 41-year-old actor got support form his wife Morena Baccarin at the event as she stepped out to show her support alongside guests Kate Walsh, Edie Falco and her Nurse Jackie co-star Stephen Wallem.

Also in attendance were Ben‘s co-stars Jane Alexander, James Cromwell, Priscilla Lopez, Maulik Pancholy, Ashley Park, and Michael Urie and playwright Bess Wohl.

Here is the synopsis: Bill and Nancy have spent fifty full years as husband and wife. They practically breathe in unison, and can anticipate each other’s every sigh, snore and sneeze. But just as they settle comfortably into their new home in Grand Horizons, the unthinkable happens: Nancy suddenly wants out. As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best.

Grand Horizons is currently in previews at Second Stage Theater’s Hayes Theater and opening night is on January 23. The limited run ends March 1.

Laura Linney Celebrates Her 'My Name is Lucy Barton' Broadway Opening Night!

Laura Linney happily strikes a pose at the opening night after party for her new play My Name Is Lucy Barton on Broadway at The Copacabana on Wednesday (January 15) in New York City.

The 55-year-old Emmy-winning actress was joined at the event by designer Christian Siriano, Edie Falco, Cynthia Nixon and Cory Michael Smith as they all were in attendance to show their support.

In the monologue piece, Laura plays Lucy Barton, a woman who wakes after an operation to find—much to her surprise—her mother at the foot of her bed. During the weeks-long visit, Lucy tries to understand her past, works to come to terms with her family, and begins to find herself as a writer.

My Name is Lucy Barton opens on Broadway January 15. The Rona Munro play, adapted from Elizabeth Strout‘s best-selling novel, premieres at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre following an acclaimed London run.

The 36-year-old actress looked lovely in yellow on her way inside the Hudson Theatre on Monday night (April 16) in New York City.

Burn This runs through July 14th.

Edie Falco Joins 'Avatar' Sequels as General Ardmore!

Award winning actress Edie Falco is joining the Avatar sequels in the role of General Ardmore!

The announcement was made earlier today (February 6) on the official Avatar Twitter account.

“We are thrilled to share that Edie Falco is joining the #AvatarFamily as General Ardmore, the Commander in charge of the RDA’s interests in the Avatar Sequels! Are you as excited as we are?,” the tweet read.

Fun fact about Edie: she’s the only actress to ever win an Emmy Award for best actress in both the drama and comedy categories! She won in the past for her work in Nurse Jackie and also for her work in The Sopranos.

James Cameron‘s Avatar 2 is currently set to be released on December 18, 2020. Avatar 3, 4, and 5 will arrive in December, 2021, December 2024, and December 2025, respectively.
