Margot Robbie announced she’s taking a break from playing Harley Quinn for a bit after back-to-back production playing the iconic DC character in Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

During the interview, the 31-year-old actress also learned the fate of Harley Quinn in the timeline that she portrays the character. If you don’t know, there are many iterations of the character in the DC Universe, but Margot’s timeline lines up with Jared Leto‘s Joker and Ben Affleck‘s Batman.

Margot Robbie is back as Harley Quinn!

The actress stars in the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and a new trailer was just released on Thursday (January 9).

The new trailer features a closer look at the villains, Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina).

Here’s a plot synopsis: You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

The series features Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), and a whole cast of heroes and villains, old and new, from the DC Universe.”

Margot Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming movie Birds of Prey and the first photos from set are here!!!

The 28-year-old actress was spotted unwrapping a burrito and throwing the tin foil wrapper into the street while filming a scene on Friday (February 1) in downtown Los Angeles.

Margot is seen wearing the same costume that she wore in an Instagram snap shared earlier in the week.

Birds of Prey, which hits theaters on February 7, 2020, follows Harley Quinn as she joins three other superheroes (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Rosie Perez) to save a little girl from an evil crime lord.

Margot Robbie is dishing on the upcoming Harley Quinn movie!

The 28-year-old Mary Queen of Scots actress made an appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning (December 4) in New York City.

During her appearance, Margot dished on the upcoming Cathy Yan-directed Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), due out in 2020.

“It’s going to be fantabulous as our title might convey…the title kind of says it all,” she gushed.

“It’s not really like a straight-up serious film. It’s a little fun, it’s got a Harley flair to it. It’s a girl gang film, and we’ve got a wicked young director directing, Cathy Yan directing. It’s going to be good.”

Kaley Cuoco is the voice of Harley Quinn!

The 32-year-old Big Bang Theory actress was revealed as the voice of the criminal Queenpin on Wednesday (October 3) following the world premiere screening of Titans at New York Comic Con.

The announcement kicked off with a first look at the upcoming animated series with a special video made just for NYCC. Immediately after, Kaley took to the stage to reveal herself as the voice of Harley.

Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Jason Alexander, Wanda Sykes, Giancarlo Esposito, Natalie Morales, Jim Rash, Diedrich Bader, Tony Hale and Chris Meloni all lend their voices to the project.
