Charlize Theron looks stunning on the red carpet while attending the 2019 Glamour Women of the Year Awards on Monday (November 11) at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

The Oscar-winning actress was joined at the event by the other honorees – director Ava DuVernay, Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi, soccer player Megan Rapinoe, fashion designer Tory Burch, and “The Handmaid’s Tale” author Margaret Atwood.

The other women being honored this year are activist Greta Thunberg and the Women of the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).

“Throughout this year at Glamour, we have celebrated women that are going big, whose influence we’ve felt reverberating beyond just a single moment. When we started to think about who to honor as our Women of the Year, we realized that these women are not just promoting one issue or one conversation, they are using their voices and platforms to have a lasting impact for generations to come,” Glamour editor-in-chief Samantha Barry said about the honorees. “This group of exceptional women are having the tough conversations that open doors, and forge new paths on issues ranging from equal pay to climate change. They’re inspiring cross generational people globally and we are proud to honor them as Women of the Year.”

Charlize Theron & More Powerful Women Are Honored with 'Glamour' Covers

Charlize Theron is among the Women of the Year honorees who are being celebrated with Glamour covers!

The Oscar-winning actress joins fellow actress Yara Shahidi, director Ava DuVernay, soccer star Megan Rapinoe, “The Handmaid’s Tale” author Margaret Atwood, designer Tory Burch, environmental activist Greta Thunberg, and the Women of the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES).

Charlize‘s full story is live now and the rest of the features will go live throughout the week. Here’s what the Bombshell actress had to share with the mag:

On how she was scared to do Bombshell: “I think I was scared of it… A lot of projects I’ve been involved in are not necessarily projects where everybody has gone, ‘Yeah, this is going to be great, you should do this!’” she says, smiling. “It tends to be projects where people are like, ‘I don’t know about this Monster movie. Really?’ ”

On working with young people through her charity: “I love working with young people because when I look at all of the issues we have faced in our history, it’s always young people who have the ‘f–k you’ to not give up. That’s where change comes from—it doesn’t come from old politicians. It’s always young people.”

On appreciating what she has: “I always had an awareness that it could end, it could literally end tomorrow. Just have the moment because the moment might never come again. I tell my kids that… I don’t think you’re ever too young to know the value of what you have right now.”

Alicia Keys, Tina Fey, & More Honored by Variety's Power of Women

Alicia Keys shows off her curly locks on the cover of Variety‘s Power of Women NY issue, out on newsstands now.

The other four women honored in the issue are Tina Fey, Emily Blunt, Margaret Atwood, and Tarana Burke. Here is what they had to share with the mag:

Tina on the need for more diversity in the writers room: “I think in comedy rooms, especially, women are treated like expensive cappuccino machines. Where it’s like, ‘We have one. Why would we have two?!’ That’s too much pressure on that one person — to carry that, to be the African-American writer, the female writer. It’s always about changing the chemistry of the room. The more diverse the room is, it automatically becomes better.”

Alicia on what she hopes for in the future for her sons: “I want [my sons] to grow up in a world where they would never think twice that boys are better than girls — or that black is better than white. And yet I also want them to have the pride of their history and their ancestry, because when we know our individuality we can really have empathy and feel strong.”

'Handmaid's Tale' Author Margaret Atwood Joins Cast at Emmys 2017!

It was a big night for The Handmaid’s Tale at the 2017 Emmy Awards and the book’s author Margaret Atwood was there to celebrate with the cast and crew!

The legendary writer walked the carpet and appeared on stage at the end of the night on Sunday (September 17) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Margaret, a Canadian author, published “The Handmaid’s Tale” in 1985 and at the time it was a dystopian novel set in the near-future, though now the themes seem to reflect the age we’re living in today.

Make sure to watch the show’s star Elisabeth Moss give an acceptance speech in which she dropped some curses.

Drake Might Make a Cameo in 'Handmaid's Tale' Season Two!

Drake might make an appearance in the second season of The Handmaid’s Tale, if author Margaret Atwood has anything to do with it!

The award-winning author wants to pitch the rapper to appear on the hit Hulu series.

“Wouldn’t it be fun for him to have a cameo in Season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale?” she asked during an interview with Boston Review.

She added, “I’ll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto. Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?”

We’d totally love to see Drake make a return to acting in The Handmaid’s Tale!
