The couple coordinated in blue outfits as they were joined by writer/director Pedro Almodovar at the premiere held during the 2019 New York Film Festival.

Antonio Banderas is bringing Pain & Glory to the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival!

The 59-year-old actor stepped out at the premiere of the film on Friday (September 6) at Ryerson Theatre in Toronto, Canada.

He was also joined by writer and director Pedro Almodovar.

The upcoming film, also known as Dolor y gloria, takes a meta approach as it follows a film director now in his twilight years as he reflects on his life in a series of flashbacks.

It also stars Penelope Cruz.

Pain and Glory is set to be released on October 4th.

Director Pedro explores “creation, both cinematographic and theatrical, and the difficulty of separating creation from one’s own life.”

The Oscar-winning actress was joined on the carpet by her frequent collaborator, director Pedro Almodovar.

Penelope is nominated for Best Actress at the event for her work in the movie Everybody Knows.

Penelope and Pedro have made six movies together, including the upcoming Pain & Glory, which will be released in Spain on March 22. She received her first Oscar nomination in 2007 for her work in his film Volver.
