Penelope Cruz twirls in a white dress on the red carpet at the premiere of Dolor y Gloria on Wednesday (March 13) at the Capital Cinema in Madrid, Spain.

The 44-year-old actress was joined by co-stars Antonio Banderas and Asier Etxeandia along with director Pedro Almodóvar as they premiered their new movie – which translates to mean “Pain & Glory” in English.

The tale takes a meta approach as it follows a film director now in his twilight years as he reflects on his life in a series of flashbacks.

Penelope Cruz happily strikes a pose while attending the photo call for her latest film Dolor y Gloria held at the Villamagna Hotel on Tuesday (March 12) in Madrid, Spain.

The 44-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Antonio Banderas, Asier Etxeandia, Cesar Vicente, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Asier Flores, Julieta Serrano, Nara Novas and Julian Lopez, as well as writer-director Pedro Almodóvar.

The tale takes a meta approach as it follows a film director now in his twilight years as he reflects on his life in a series of flashbacks.

Director Pedro explores “creation, both cinematographic and theatrical, and the difficulty of separating creation from one’s own life.”
