Joey Graceffa Says He's 'Deeply Sorry' Laughing at Shane Dawson's Racist Jokes

Joey Graceffa is addressing a recently resurfaced video of he and Shane Dawson.

Joey, 29, took to his Twitter on Saturday (August 15) to release a statement regarding the clip where he laughed at racist jokes that Shane, 32, made.

“I want to address a clip that has recently resurfaced from a 2013 collaboration video for Shane Dawson’s channel that was deleted many years ago,” Joey wrote. “The video being circulated was from a makeup challenge where I ignorantly chose an improper shade of foundation – which led to Shane making some racists jokes. Although these ‘jokes’ made me uncomfortable, I was also complicit and at the time I was too intimidated to call out these offensive remarks.”

Joey continued: “Looking back, I am so disappointed and embarrassed in my own ignorance and cowardice. I take full responsibility for my mistakes, and for not putting a stop to what was happening right then and there. I am deeply sorry to those who were offended and disappointed by my participation in the video. I am too. While it was taken down many years ago, this still serves as a lesson that these issues should never be taken lightly – no matter what age you are.”

Shane has been coming under fire a lot lately, including trying to bring down James Charles in a grand scheme and sexualizing Willow Smith.

“I know I have lost trust with many of you,” Joey concluded. “Although I am not owed anything, I ask you all for the opportunity to earn your forgiveness as I have grown so much since then. I hope to regain your trust moving forward by continuing to use my platform to advocate against injustice, while educating myself along the way. Love, Joey.”

“hey boos, as some of you may know as of this week I will no longer be a @MorpheBrushes affiliate. code ‘EDGES’ has deactivated. I refuse to align myself with a company that continues to retail antiblack racist beauty brands. I strongly encourage other influencers to do the same!” she wrote.

The news comes as Tati Westbrook alleged in a recent video that Jeffree Star is an investor in the company, which the brand has denied. The company also recently removed the Jeffree and Shane Dawson Conspiracy palette from their inventory amid backlash against both YouTubers for prior racist behavior and problematic jokes.

Tati also had an apology for Jackie in her video for not “walking away” before collaborating with Jeffree

“We’re committed to creating an experience in which all guests feel welcomed and respected,” Target said in a statement to WWD.

At the same time, YouTube also announced that Shane‘s channels were being demonetized amid the backlash.

Shane issued an apology video days before to mixed reaction, and he has become the subject of controversy once again after Tati Westbrook uploaded a video alleging that he “weaponized” her along with Jeffree Star against James Charles. Here’s what she said…

Trisha Paytas Calls Tati Westbrook 'Dumb As Hell' in Response Video

Trisha Paytas is not impressed with Tati Westbrook‘s return to YouTube amid beauty community drama.

The 32-year-old YouTuber posted a video on Tuesday night (June 30) in response to Tati‘s video, in which she claimed she was “weaponized” against James Charles by Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star.

“Watching Tati Westbrook, a YouTuber in her 30s, older than myself…I’m 32…in her late 30s, make this video right now is actually crazy. Two things I’m going to say for the record right off the bat: I don’t defend Shane‘s underage jokes and racist jokes. He’s my friend, I won’t turn my back on him, I love him, I don’t support those things, wasn’t involved in this beauty community drama, looking at it from the outside. And two, this has nothing to do with my friendship with Jeffree Star,” she said.

Tati is saying she made a video because she was manipulated by two grown adults. In that video, you accused James Charles of being a sexual predator, of sexual crimes. You should be investigated for making false criminal claims. You can’t backtrack. You can’t say someone else told me to do it. That came out of your mouth,” she went on to say.

“You’re a grown ass woman. You’re probably damn near 40. You can make that decision yourself. And why now are you deciding to speak up? Because it’s cool to hate Shane and Jeffree?”

“It’s just stupidity. Don’t say you were gaslit when in actuality you just have no intelligence,” she went on to say.

She also called out Tati for not speaking out about Black Lives Matter, as well as her crying over her beauty brand launch.

“B–h, if you’re scared for your f–king life, how about don’t do a launch? How about don’t do a public event if you’re scared for your life? How about go get security? How about stay low-key? Have someone else go to the launch if you need to release these products. This b–h got emotional because her brand got hurt.”

Shane recently went live to react to Tati‘s video. Here’s what he did…

“Oh my God,” he said while breathing heavily and shaking his head.

“I f–king can’t process this. This is insane…this woman is a f–king, oh my God. I’m going to wait until as many people get in here as possible. I’m losing my mind…because you message drama channels! She is a f–king – I can’t. I don’t want to say mean things about people. This is insane. This person, literally…oh my God,” he said before asking his fiance Ryland Adams to continue playing the video.

“Oh my God, you are so manipulative. You’re fake crying…that is not real, oh my God! I was molested, I have been…oh my God,” he continued to rant at the screen as she spoke before abruptly ending the stream.

Ryland then took to social media to rant against Tati.

Here is how YouTube is responding to the recent backlash against Shane Dawson.

Rebecca Black Is 'Deeply Ashamed' For Participating in Offensive Joke About The Holocaust With Shane Dawson

Rebecca Black is owning up to her past mistakes and apologizing to her fans for participating in a joke about the Holocaust.

The joke in question happened many years ago during a video with Shane Dawson, who is under fire for a lot of things this week, including trying to bring down James Charles in a grand scheme and sexualizing Willow Smith.

“I am deeply ashamed to have taken part in such an offensive bit,” Rebecca wrote on Twitter, following fans re-surfacing the video to call her and Shane out on it. “Yes I was 16, uncomfortable, and didn’t know this was coming.”

She adds, “Shane, I know that deep down you are trying to learn and grow. But we must do better & take complete responsibility for how harmful this is. @shanedawson.”

Rebecca also added a true apology for her actions.

“I am so sorry to those I have hurt,” she wrote. “I wish what I would have done was shut such an offensive joke down, rather than uncomfortably play into something I deep down knew was wrong.”
