One Of HBO's New Series Might Outspend 'Game of Thrones' Production

HBO is currently rounding out the cast of their brand new show, The Last Of Us, and in a new report, it’s being suggested that the new series could outspend Game of Thrones per episode.

According to the report (via Forbes), the president of IATSE 212 (an association of film artists and technicians in the region), Damian Petti, shared a cost number that will make your jaw drop.

Gabriel Luna to Play Pedro Pascal's Brother in 'Last of Us' HBO Series

Gabriel Luna has joined the cast of the upcoming HBO series The Last of Us, which is an adaptation of the best-selling video game franchise.

The 38-year-old actor is best known for his role as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider on the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and as Gabriel/REV-9 in Terminator: Dark Fate.

The Last of Us “takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”

Gabriel will be playing Joel’s younger brother Tommy, “a former soldier who hasn’t lost his sense of idealism and hope for a better world,” according to Deadline.

The creator of the show previously confirmed some news about the character Ellie.

The video game The Last of Us is being turned into a TV series for HBO and the two leads were just cast!

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who both had pivotal roles on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will be starring in the new series.

Pedro played Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones and he currently stars in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Deadline says that The Last of Us “has him in first position,” though he will still appear on the Star Wars series.

Bella is best known for playing Lyanna Mormont on Game of Thrones.

'The Last Of Us' Video Game Will Get Television Adaption at HBO

HBO has ordered a brand new series based on The Last of Us video game.

According to Variety, the live-action show takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed and centers on Joel, a hardened survivor, who is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.

What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Craig Mazin, who was behind the Emmy-award winning series Chernobyl, and game writer Neil Druckmann, will write and executive produce the show.

“Craig and Neil are visionaries in a league of their own,” Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, shared in a statement. “With them at the helm alongside the incomparable Carolyn Strauss, this series is sure to resonate with both die-hard fans of ‘The Last of Us’ games and newcomers to this genre-defining saga. We’re delighted to partner with Naughty Dog, Word Games, Sony and PlayStation to adapt this epic, powerfully immersive story.”

The Last of Us video game was first released in 2013 and has garnered many fans. The latest iteration, The Last of Us Part II, was released in June.

'The Last of Us' Is Becoming a TV Show, Writer Confirms Main Character Will Be Gay

The popular video game The Last of Us will become a TV series at HBO and the upcoming show’s co-writer just confirmed something for fans.

Craig Mazin, the creator of HBO’s limited series Chernobyl, is writing and executive producing the show with the video game’s writer and creative director Neil Druckmann.

The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic tale that centers on the “relationship between Joel, a smuggler in this new world, and Ellie, a teenager who may be key to a cure for a deadly pandemic,” THR reports.

In the game, Ellie is gay and Craig confirms that she will remain a gay character in the series.
