Also in attendance were Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot with director Patty Jenkins. Their film was selected as one of the Top Movies of the Year.

Other films to make the list included Get Out and The Post. Those films’ stars and directors – Allison Williams, Daniel Kaluuya, Jordan Peele, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg – were all at the event!

Reese‘s Big Little Lies made the list of the Top Television Programs of the Year.

The married couple collaborated on the film The Big Sick, which was chosen as one of the Top Movies of the Year. Kumail‘s co-star Holly Hunter was there as well!

Master of None‘s Aziz Ansari, Lena Waithe, and Alessandra Mastronardi and Insecure‘s Issa Rae stepped out to support their shows, which made the list of the Top Television Programs of the Year.

Peter is the creator and writer of the Netflix series The Crown, which was selected as one of AFI’s Top Television Programs of the Year.

This is a big week for Gillian as her series The X-Files returned to Fox and she has said it will be her last season on the show.

Saoirse Ronan looks chic in her all-white outfit at the 2018 AFI Awards at the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday afternoon (January 5) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 23-year-old Lady Bird actress was joined at the event by her co-star Laurie Metcalf and writer/director Greta Gerwig.

Call Me By Your Name‘s Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer, and Michael Stuhlbarg were all at the event as well.

The Florida Project‘s Willem Dafoe and Brooklynn Prince stepped out at the celebration with their director Sean Baker.

All three of the films were included on AFI’s list of the Top Movies of the Year.

The 31-year-old actress shared a cute moment with actor Sterling K. Brown on the carpet. Their shows Game of Thrones and This Is Us were selected as two of AFI’s Top Television Programs of the Year.

This Is Us stars Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley were all there to support the show as well.

The American Film Institute has announced its list of the Top 10 movies and television shows of the year!

The honorees will be recognized at a luncheon on January 5 in Los Angeles, kicking off a long weekend of events before the Golden Globes.

The lists of the top movies and shows are in alphabetical order and not in order of preference.

“At a time when the world seems defined by division, storytellers bring us together as one,” AFI president and CEO Bob Gazzale said in a statement. “AFI Awards is honored to celebrate this community of artists who challenge and inspire us, entertain and enlighten us – ultimately reminding us of our common heartbeat.”
