Amanda Seyfried Replaces Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Holmes in 'The Dropout'

Kate McKinnon‘s replacement in the Hulu limited series The Dropout based on the rise and fall of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has been revealed: Amanda Seyfried!

Kate dropped out of the project back in February.

The show will also be produced by the ABC News trio behind the The Dropout podcast, which launched in 2019 and then turned into a two-hour documentary on ABC News in March of that year, Variety reports.

“The story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos is an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye? How did the woman once heralded as ‘the next Steve Jobs’ find herself facing criminal charges — to which she pleaded not guilty — and up to 20 years in jail? How did her technology, meant to revolutionize healthcare, potentially put millions of patients at risk? And how did so many smart people get it so wrong along the way?” the podcast describes of its subject matter.

Amanda recently revealed she wants a re-do of one of her most iconic roles.
