Back to the Future's Marty McFly & Doc Brown Are Not Impressed By the Real 2015 - Watch Now!

Back to the Future stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd get into costume as Marty McFly and Doc Brown in this hilarious sketch that aired on Wednesday (October 21) during Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

In the sketch, Marty and Doc travel to the REAL 2015 and let’s just say…they’re less than impressed.

After learning that there are no real flying cars and hoverboards, they seem perplexed. Jimmy then teaches them about selfies.

“If you don’t mind my asking, what the hell have you guys been doing for 30 years?” Marty asked, to which Jimmy responded that they invented a cronut.

Great Scott - Happy Back to the Future Day!

Back to the Future day is finally HERE!

For those living under a rock or those that have just been cryogenically unfrozen from the last 30 years, this day celebrates the 1989 motion picture, Back to the Future Part II, where Marty McFly travels to the “future” October 21st, 2015 to save his children. As all time travel movies go, fixing one thing leads to a few other complications in time that Marty and his crazy scientist mentor, Doc Brown, need to unravel.

The beloved film hit legendary cultural status with the handful of predictions the future BTTF got right. Many fans believe the film’s predictions were eerily on point, while others seemed to have missed the boat completely. Michael J Fox, who played Marty McFly, and Christopher Lloyd, who played Doc Brown, also got together for a commercial to discuss what the 80′s film got right.

Some notable predictions include large screen televisions, video conferencing, video glasses, 3D movies being prevalent in theaters, biometric identification, drones, and the movie industries fascination with sequels. One prediction still in the works is if the Chicago Cubs can make it to the World Series (the team is currently one series away from that historic step though they currently trail 3-0 in their series with the NY Mets).

On that note, don’t be alarmed if you see a bunch of people walking around with light up sneakers and shimmering hats today, or maybe even see a few Deloreans on the road. Today is that day – Back to the Future Day.

'Back to the Future' Reunion Focuses on 2015 Predictions

It seems like Back to the Future is back in the news a whole lot these days!

The movie’s stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd are starring in a new video for Toyota Mirai in which they discuss the predictions their film made for 2015. The full version of their video is going to be released on October 21.

“Over the years we’ve had a lot of fun predicting which Back to the Future fictional 2015 technology would arrive by the real year,” Michael said in a statement. “Now that we’re a week away, I think fans are going to have a good time with what Toyota sees as a true possibility for transportation. It’s actually really cool.”

One of the predictions that might come true is the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series. They are just one step away from landing in the series!

Cubs Win, Send 'Back to the Future' Prophecy One Step Closer!

The Chicago Cubs are one step closer to the 2015 World Series after winning the NLDS, which means that the Back to the Future Part II prophecy is very close to becoming reality!

In the movie, it is predicted that the Cubs will win the World Series in 2015. While the film says that the team will defeat the Miami Marlins, that team is not in the playoffs.

The film’s screenwriter Bob Gale opened up earlier this year about the prediction possibly coming true.

“I’ll tell you, some of the things in Part II were half-ass predictions and some were just jokes”and this one was a joke,” Bob said. “But I’m a baseball fan and if you were going to pick a Cubs team and say they were going to be contenders, the 2015 Cubs have to be on the list. Even guys who are on the Cubs have seen Back to the Future II and they’re saying “It’s been predicted, we’re the team of destiny!”

The cast of the beloved movie reunited at London Film & Comic-Con, just months before “the future” from Back to the Future Part II arrives on October 21, 2015.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is celebrating the once-in-a-lifetime date by releasing three different sets on October 20 – Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Trilogy, Back to the Future: The Complete Animated Series, and Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures, which combines the previous two sets into one major package.
