Bob Odenkirk Says 'Better Call Saul' Final Seasons Will Give Look Into What Happens After 'Breaking Bad'!

Bob Odenkirk paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night (February 26) and dished about going into the final seasons of his hit show, Better Call Saul!

“We know but not really. They always want to throw a curve at ya,” the 57-year-old actor told Jimmy about the final seasons not being so expected. “We already shot one scene that took place during the time period of Breaking Bad, it was in season four of Better Call Saul, episode five. We will get there and we’re very close.”

Better Call Saul was recently renewed for a sixth season and AMC announced it would be the last one. The final season will premiere in 2021 and will feature 13 episodes. The fifth season is airing now.

“In fact, on this season of Better Call Saul, which just started, will see Dean Norris and Steven Michael Quezada,” Bob confirmed. “Old chums from Breaking Bad are coming back, more people coming back into the world. Then, I think they’re going to tell the story of what happens after the Breaking Bad sequence.”

Bob Odenkirk also talked about getting an honorary degree from Southern Illinois University, leaving high school after his junior year, bouncing around colleges, doing a college radio sketch show, and taking his son and friends to play Roulette in Vegas.

'Better Call Saul' Renewed for Sixth & Final Season on AMC

Better Call Saul has been renewed for a sixth season and AMC has announced that this one will be its last one.

The cast appeared at the network’s panel during the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Thursday (January 16) to share the news.

“From day one of Better Call Saul my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true,” showrunner Peter Gould said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible. Next month we start work on the sixth and final season — we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.”

The final season will premiere in 2021 and will feature 13 episodes. The fifth season will air this year.

Giancarlo Esposito Says 'Better Call Saul' to End After Season 6

Better Call Saul will end after six seasons, according to star Giancarlo Esposito.

The 60-year-old actor recently opened up about the Breaking Bad prequel’s conclusion.

“It’s tricky with [co-creator Vince Gilligan]. If you look at the Breaking Bad model, he said five years, five seasons, but it was really five and six,” Giancarlo told Collider, referencing the show’s split final season.

As for Better Call Saul, he added, “There will be six seasons. It seems like that’s the way, the comfortable way, to end this show.”

Despite Giancarlo‘s statement, a source tells THR that an endgame isn’t set in stone yet.

Better Call Saul is currently in production on its fifth season, which is expected to air on AMC in early 2020.

Bob Odenkirk Is Surpised 'Breaking Bad's Walter White Was 'So Popular'!

Bob Odenkirk has opened up about the new season of Better Call Saul and the art of the anti-hero.

“A character can be so bad and people are still on their side? You think, really? How bad can you be?,” the 54-year-old actor recently expressed (via BigIssue). “People sympathised with Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston)! Vince Gilligan [Breaking Bad creator] said that he hated this guy, how he couldn’t live in that life anymore, how he was an awful person. Maybe it’s who gets the most screen time. Maybe your brain says, ‘yep, that’s the hero’. Because Walter White was horrible, and people still wanted him to win. The surprise is that he was so popular.”

“The phenomenon of the anti-hero, of people identifying with an ethically compromised person, is very curious,” Bob added. “My experience of getting this show to happen is probably vastly different to a young actor who’s auditioning like crazy and then suddenly someone writes him a show. I’ve been in this business for a long time and I’ve watched shows go and fail, tried at things. I’ve written 15 to 20 pilots that didn’t go. It wasn’t as big as an excitement for me until we were done with the first season and I saw the billboards go up and I thought, holy shit I’ve got a show! This is a year and a half after the announcement.”

Season three of Better Call Saul is on Netflix, with new episodes weekly every Tuesday.
