The 29-year-old “Said Sum” superstar’s new album, A Gangsta’s Pain, debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200 as of Sunday (May 2), the company reported.
The album, which was released on April 23, earned 110,000 equivalent album units, largely powered by streaming.

The Weeknd leads with the most nominations as he’s nominated 16 times! He’s up for top artist, top male artist, top Hot 100 artist, top streaming songs artist and top song sales artist, among other categories.
Fun fact: if The Weeknd wins in all of his categories, he would surpass Taylor Swift‘s record (23 career wins) as the second-most-winning artist in BBMA history. Taylor‘s up for four awards, and could tie Drake‘s record for most wins of all time (27).
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards are set to air on NBC and will broadcast in across the country at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 23, from the Microsoft Theater.
The 31-year-old “Love Story” singer-songwriter earned her ninth No. 1 album with her re-recorded Fearless (Taylor’s Version) on the Billboard 200 as of Sunday (April 18), Billboard reported.
The album now ties her with Madonna for second-most No. 1 albums among women, behind Barbra Streisand‘s all-time record of 11.
It also notched the biggest week of 2021, moving 291,000 equivalent album units. That marks the biggest week for a country album since 2015 with Luke Bryan‘s Kill the Lights.
Plus, it’s logged the largest streaming week for a country album by a woman – ever! She now has three of the Top 5 selling albums of 2021: Fearless (No. 2), Folklore (No. 4) and Evermore (No. 5).
The album moved 74,000 equivalent album units in the past week, having already debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated April 3 and falling to No. 2 on the April 10 chart.
This is now Justin‘s first album to spend more than one week at No. 1 since 2010, when My World 2.0 spent four nonconsecutive weeks on top. He has eight No. 1 albums, and the six No. 1 albums in between My World 2.0 and Justice spent one week at No. 1.
Lil Nas X has earned his second number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his new song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”
The 21-year-old rapper previously broke the record for the most weeks spent at number one with his debut single “Old Town Road,” which ruled the chart for 19 weeks in 2019.
The 22-year-old entertainer’s SoulFly debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the company reported Sunday (April 4).
The album moved 130,000 equivalent album units in its first week, marking the biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop album in 2021 in terms of units earned.
SoulFly is his third charting album, following Ghetto Gospel, which peaked at No. 10 in 2019 and Pray 4 Love, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 in 2020.
SoulFly is just the second R&B/hip-hop album to hit No. 1 the last five months since Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red, which spent a week at No. 1 on the chart in January. Before that was Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, which spent its second of two nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 in October of 2020.

The 27-year-old scored his seventh Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with his new song “Peaches,” which features Daniel Caesar and Giveon.
It was announced on Sunday (March 28) that his new album Justicehad overtakenMorgan Wallen‘s Dangerous: The Double Album, which had spent 10 weeks in the No. 1 spot.
This makes Justin the first solo male to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums chart simultaneously.
Justin joins BTS and Taylor Swift in having debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 at the same time, with Taylor actually managing to do it twice in her career.
