The National Football League is chipping in to support the cause.
Following Las Vegas Raiders player Carl Nassib‘s history-making announcement that he is gay and pledging $100,000 to the Trevor Project, the football organization announced they will be matching his contribution on Tuesday (June 22).

Carl Nassib has come out as gay.
The 28-year-old Las Vegas Raiders defensive end revealed the news in an Instagram video. He has made history as the first active NFL player to come out as gay.
“What’s up people, I’m Carl Nassib. I’m at my house in West Chester, Pennsylvania,” he introduced himself in a video intro of his latest post, before adding, “I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that I’m gay.”
He added, “I’ve been meaning to do this for a while now but finally feel comfortable getting it off my chest. I really have the best life, the best family, friends and job a guy can ask for.”
