Chris Kelly, the creator of Comedy Central’s The Other Two and a former SNL writer, has a great idea for a Broadway play that he thinks will win a Tony Award in six years.
The 36-year-old writer and director says the play will be “about this time,” which means it will be set in the coronavirus outbreak.
“in 6yrs a play about this time will win the tony,” Chris tweeted on Thursday night (March 19). “it’ll be 4hrs long and take place in real time, in one apartment, over the course of a single night. it’ll follow a big family (w/ les daughter) and 40% will be performed back-to-audience so it really feels like they’re in an apt.”
While you’re at home during this time, make sure to watch Chris‘ semi-autobiographical movie Other People on Netflix. It’s a must-see!
