Christian Serratos waves to fans outside the window as she embodies Selena Quintanilla in Netflix’s upcoming series about the Tejano star.

Here’s the official summary for the new show: Before she became the Queen of Tejano Music, Selena Quintanilla was a young girl from Texas with big dreams and an even bigger voice.

Selena: The Series explores her journey from singing small gigs to becoming the most successful female Latin artist of all time — and the years of hard work and sacrifice the Quintanilla family navigated together.

Gabriel Chavarria, Ricardo Chavira, Noemí Gonzalez, and Seidy López also star in the show, which was created by Moisés Zamora.

Part One of Selena: The Series will premiere on Netflix on December 4, 2020.

The streaming service just dropped the new teaser, along with the key art and date announcement.

Selena: The Series is a coming-of-age story following Selena as her dreams come true and all the heart-wrenching and life-changing choices she and her family have to make as they navigate success, family, and music.

Ricardo Chavira, Gabriel Chavarria, Julio Macias, Jesse Posey, Hunter Reese Peña, Carlos Alfredo, Jr., Juan Martinez, Daniela Estrada, Paul Rodriguez, Jr. Noemi Gonzalez, Seidy Lopez and Madison Taylor Baez also star in the series.

From creator and executive producer Moisés Zamora, Selena: The Series will premiere on December 4, 2020.

Christian Serratos is Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in an upcoming Netflix bio-series, and you can watch the first teaser trailer right here!

The 29-year-old Walking Dead actress will play the late iconic singer in Selena: The Series, out sometime in 2020.

In the casting video released on Tuesday (November 12), Christian wears Selena‘s signature hairstyle and lipstick.

The series is described as “a coming of age story that follows Selena Quintanilla as her dreams come true and all the heart-wrenching and life-changing choices she and her family have to make as they navigate success, family, and music.”

The series will be split into two parts, with the first half comprising six hour-long episodes.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ryan Hurst, and Norman Reedus join forces at the Walking Dead Premiere and Party!

The co-stars stepped out for the event held on Monday (September 23) in West Hollywood, Calif.

They were joined by their castmates Eleanor Matsuura, Christian Serratos, Cailey Fleming, Ross Marquand, Cooper Andrews, Avi Nash, Thora Birch, Nadia Hilker, Chris Hardwick, Alanna Masterson, Greg Nicotero, Danai Gurira, Angel Theory, Seth Gilliam, Callan McAuliffe, Nadine Marissa, Khary Payton, Cassady McClincy, Melissa McBride, and Austin Amelio.

Also in attendance were Fear the Walking Dead‘s Alexa Nisenson, Jenna Elfman, and Karen David.

Jeffrey‘s wife Hilarie Burton and singer Marilyn Manson were also there to show their support.

Season 10 of The Walking Dead premieres on October 6 on AMC!

Christian Serratos is reportedly in talks to play the late singer Selena Quintanilla in the upcoming scripted show Selena: The Series.

Netflix is working with Selena‘s family to make the new television series, which is going to begin production in Mexico within the next month. It’s being reported that the series is designed to run for two seasons, though it’s not known if episodes will be half-hour or hour-long.

Christian‘s casting was first reported by Vulture and THR notes that she’s still in negotiations because of her shooting schedule for The Walking Dead. She plays the fan-favorite character Rosita on the AMC series.

Selena was shot and killed at the age of 23 by her business associate. The show will follow the singer and her family as they worked to build her career.

Norman Reedus and the cast of The Walking Dead reunited for 2019 PaleyFest!

The group stepped out for the panel discussion on Friday evening (March 22) at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Norman was joined by Ryan Hurst, Christian Serratos, Eleanor Matsuura and Lauren Ridloff as well as executive producer Angela Kang.

During the event, Norman spilled on how he would describe the show’s upcoming ninth season.

“Rock ‘em sock ‘em robots. There was a war…now the two teams are going at each other. It does feel like a western,” Norman said.
