Christina Aguilera has remade her classic song “Reflection” for the live-action version of Disney’s Mulan and it’s a beautiful new rendition of the beloved tune.

The 39-year-old singer did a whole bunch of new riffs during the song and she ends the number with an epic final note that you’ve gotta hear.

Christina recorded a music video for the new version of the song, which you can watch below.

“My new rendition of @mulan’s #Reflection is out now! I am at a place of new beginnings in my life and set out to embrace the woman I’ve become, having grown up in this business, till now. So this song always resonates and represents exciting and new chapters & energy for me. I hope you enjoy this fresh new take of Reflection,” Christina wrote on Instagram.

Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 21st anniversary of her debut album and fans want to know what happened to the 20th anniversary edition that was supposed to be released.

The 39-year-old singer wrote on Twitter, “Happy 21st anniversary to my debut, self titled album! So crazy — 21 years ago, I scored Reflection and my record deal in the same week. Fast forward to today, the 21st anniversary is falling on the same week my new rendition of Reflection is dropping. The stars are aligning.”

A fan replied, “What about the special digital edition for the 20th anniversary tho Mss Queen?”

Christina responded, “Haha 100% fair point! I never forgot about it & was disappointed that it never came to fruition. Originally I wanted reimagined new material to coincide with the digital release. But due to timing with touring & Vegas, it wasn’t able to be done to my standard of quality.”

She continued, “So I decided to postpone to when the time felt right.
Anything worth doing is worth doing right…so I will definitely readdress this in the future. Thanks for bringing to my attention. I never want to ‘settle’ in giving you my best always.”

Later this week, Christina will be releasing her new version of “Reflection.”

Christina Aguilera has released the music video for her original song “Loyal Brave True” from the upcoming live-action adaptation of Mulan.

Mulan is a very special project for Christina as she launched her music career by singing “Reflection” for the animated version of the Disney film.

Christina recorded a new version of “Reflection” for the live-action movie and she also is singing this new original song. The movie, as well as the soundtrack, will be released on September 4.

Christina took to Instagram and said, “It’s been a long awaited project that had to be postponed in the beginning of the year when all the theatres got shut down…but now we can reveal this beautiful movie and unveil the songs and music videos that I recorded in both English and Spanish.”

She noted that this is “a very nostalgic and special moment — seeing as this movie started it all for me. Leading to a record deal and the rest of my career to follow. Disney has always been the beginning of many magical things for me and I’m proud to now share this one!”

I haven’t got a project or album, just a bunch of different songs that perhaps some of you will be able to connect to. They have helped me get through some of the most difficult times. At some stage I’m going to find a moment to share with you so bare with me,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

“I had this incredibly beautiful and talented person reach out to me a while back asking for me to be on her album, I was so blown away and I jumped at the opportunity. I had 2 hours to write the short verse and record. The goal was to have the music come out under a different name so that you could hear the music first and later know it was me but it didn’t work out the way id planned. I shied away from acknowledging it was me, I don’t know why, maybe Insecurities, fear, overthinking, something I think many people can relate to. Well I want to say that XNDA is me and I am so honoured and grateful to @xtina for giving me a place to use my voice. I have so much gratitude and respect for her and what’s she’s done in the business. #pipe”

Christina Aguilera is opening up about how businessmen wanted her to change her name at the start of her career.

The 39-year-old singer is looking back at her first and only Spanish language album, Mi Reflejo, for a new feature in Billboard.

“I remember when I was first coming up, there was a big debate around me on changing my last name because all the businessmen around me thought it was too long, too complicated, and too ethnic,” Christina told the mag.

“‘Christina Agee‘ was an option, but that clearly wasn’t going to fly. I was dead set against the idea and I wanted to represent who I really was. Being Latina, it is a part of my heritage and who I am,” she added.

“There was another time in my childhood when I was being asked to legally change my name to my stepfather’s to be legally adopted and I was again dead set against it,” Christina said. “I’ve been fighting for my last name my whole life.”
