Charlize Theron, David Oyelowo, and Scott Eastwood join forces for a good cause!

The 44-year-old Long Shot actress, the 43-year-old Don’t Let Go actor, and the 33-year-old The Fate of the Furious star attended the GEANCO Foundation Hollywood Gala held at SLS Hotel on Thursday (October 10) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

They were joined by Chicago Fire‘s Charlie Barnett.

The event raised funds for innovative health and education programs in Nigeria.

Taking place just one day before the global “International Day of the Girl,” the event also highlighted how GEANCO supports and empowers girls in Africa’s most populous country.

David Oyelowo has been cast in the upcoming Showtime series The President is Missing, which is an adaptation of the novel by Bill Clinton and James Patterson.

The 43-year-old Selma actor has been cast as the title character for the new series. Showtime has ordered a pilot, which will be shot in 2020.

In The President Is Missing, a powerless and politically aimless Vice President (Oyelowo) unexpectedly becomes President halfway into his administration’s first term, despite his every wish to the contrary. He walks right into a secret, world-threatening crisis, both inside and outside the White House. Attacked by both friends and enemies alike, with scandal and conspiracy swirling around him, he is confronted with a terrible choice: keep his head down, toe the party line and survive, or act on his stubborn, late-developing conscience and take a stand.

The book was the number one novel of 2018 with over 2.3 million copies sold in North America alone.

“David brings such enormous depth, sensitivity and power to every role he plays,” Showtime co-president Gary Levine said in a statement. “Having him as our lead ensures that our series will have the exhilarating suspense of a political thriller along with the juicy complexity of a character drama.”

David Oyelowo has joined the cast of the upcoming movie Good Morning, Midnight, which will be directed by George Clooney.

The Oscar-winning actor is also starring in the film, which is going to Netflix.

Variety reports that David‘s role is currently unknown. The The post-apocalyptic tale “follows the parallel stories of Augustine (Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, and an astronaut on board the Aether spacecraft, which is trying to return home to Earth, as Augustine races to make contact with the spaceship.”

Also in the cast are Felicity Jones and Kyle Chandler. The movie is based on the 2016 novel by Lily Brooks-Dalton.

Ava DuVernay poses for pictures with David Oyelowo while hosting a very special screening of Don’t Let Go on Friday (August 16) at the Array Offices in Los Angeles.

The film’s director, Jacob Estes, as well as stars Mykelti Wiliamson and Bryon Mann were also in attendance.

Special screening guests included Maya Rudolph, Paul Thomas Anderson, Niecy Nash, Edwina Findley and producer Charles King.

In ​Don’t Let Go,​ detective Jack Radcliff (Oyelowo) gets a shocking phone call from his recently-murdered niece Ashley (Storm Reid). Working together across time, they race to solve her murder before it can happen.

Alfie Allen hit James Corden‘s couch alongside RuPaul and David Oyelowo on Tuesday night’s (August 13) episode of The Late Late Show!

The Game of Thrones star revealed how the creators – David Benioff and D.B. Weiss – of the HBO epic fantasy drama once pranked him with a fake script that prematurely killed off his character, Theon Greyjoy.

“I kind of just took it on the chin and got on with it,” Allen explained, recalling how fellow Game of Thrones cast members told Benioff and Weiss, some three weeks after he’d received the bogus script, that they should probably call him “because he might be tearing his hair out.”

“But I wasn’t, I was sunbathing,” Alfie admitted, who also revealed how the pair played a similar stunt on Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow.

Storm Reid poses with David Oyelowo while they promote their new film, Don’t Let Go, at Build Series in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (August 7).

The 16-year-old actress was seen later that night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, which was her late night talk show debut.

There, Storm revealed that she had a unique experience for her 16th birthday – dining out with her family in complete darkness.

“The servers and waiters were blind. I actually had to step outside myself and no be so selfish, because why wouldn’t I be able to spend an hour in a dark room when these people have to spend their entire lives like this?” Storm explained.

The next day (August 8), Storm was spotted arriving for her appearance on The Today Show.
