Director Adil El Arbi Says 'Beverly Hills Cop 4' Is Still Happening

Beverly Hills Cop 4 is still a go, according to its’ director.

Eddie Murphy‘s Axel Foley will still be part of the next installment in the popular film franchise, which is set to be released by Netflix.

“We’re still involved in that project, and there’s a screenwriter now on it that’s going to try to write a first draft or a first treatment at least with the story,” the director shared with Digital Spy. “So we’re going to see what the first version will be, but we’re very excited and hope that we can work with another icon like Eddie Murphy. That’d be great.”

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have been tied to helm the film since 2016, although progress on the movie has been slow.

Jennifer Lopez Reveals She Wants to 'Shoot Her Toe Off' For Turning Down This Movie Role

Renée Zellweger, Eddie Murphy, and Jennifer Lopez are on the cover of Vanity Fair‘s Hollywood issue!

Here’s what the stars had to share with the mag…

Jennifer, on passing on the leading role in the movie Unfaithful: “I should have known that Adrian Lyne was going to kill it, but I didn’t. Diane Lane was so perfect for it, and it was obviously meant to be her, but when I think about that, I was offered it, and I had the opportunity…. I want to literally, like, shoot my toe off. I do.”

Eddie, on taking a break from Hollywood: “About eight years ago. I said it’s time to take a break and not really be pushing at movies. Getting it right with the director and the writers and having everything work together…that takes a lot of effort, and it’s strenuous. I had gotten to the point where I was just so burned out on the process of making a movie that if I was a little boy, I would have started crying.”

Renee, on doing things on her own terms: “No one’s going to invite you to do it. You shouldn’t wait. If it’s something that’s your passion, then do it. That really is the truth. No one’s ever going to anoint you and say, ‘No, no, no, you *do* have the skills to do this, you really *do*,’ even before you’ve checked off all the things on your list that you think will validate you or substantiate you or your desire to participate. There’s always going to be someone who tells you not to do it. Be around a bunch of people who tell you you can.”

“Being able to make a living as an actor is a privilege and a blessing. And to make a living making people laugh, there’s no higher — you’re the luckiest person on Earth to be able to do that. And I’ve gotten to do so many different types of things. I’ve played everything. I’ve been a cop and a robber and a doctor and a professor. And different ethnicities. I’ve been animals; I’ve been a donkey. I even played a spaceship once!” he said during his nostalgic speech.

Eddie Murphy Says There 'Is No Me' Without This Person

Eddie Murphy is on the cover of W Magazine‘s Best Performances issue, which hits newsstands on February 4.

Here’s what the Dolemite Is My Name star had to say…

On getting into his Dolemite character Rudy Ray Moore’s fashion taste: “The costuming gave the character a pulse. Except the shoes. Those platform shoes, it was more like a throbbing feeling. When you’re in your 50s and you put on platform shoes, your feet are saying, ‘Take these off me.’”

On his first record:Richard Pryor’s That N–r’s Crazy comedy album. That album is why I’m a comedian. It was, Oh, that’s who I am. There is no me without Richard Pryor.”

On his crush growing up:Pam Grier’s were the first adult t-tties I ever saw. It was in the same theater where I saw Dolemite. I was 13 or 14, and it changed my life. And then, years later, I worked with her in a film. It was a little strange—I almost wanted to tell her, ‘Do you know that your t-tties were the first t-tties I ever saw?!’”

Kenan Thompson Responds After Fans Keep Cutting Him Out of 'SNL' Photo with Fellow Legends

Kenan Thompson has seemingly responded to some of the love he got after being cut out of an iconic Saturday Night Live photo.

If you missed it, it all started when Eddie Murphy hosted the show after a decades-long hiatus. During his monologue, he brought Dave Chappelle, Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock on stage, and they were soon joined by Kenan.

Well, photos of the iconic moment began circulating on social media, except many began cutting Kenan out of the photo. Later, people began calling out the faux pas and including the full photo with kind words about Kenan‘s impact.

“Before you disrespect Kenan Thompson and crop him out of this photo, remember that this man has a 26-year long career — the bulk of it on SNL,” one fan defended, while another wrote, “I grew up watching Good Burger, Kenan & Kel, All That, then as an adult watching him on SNL. He is a legend & deserves more respect than he gets. It’s disrespectful to crop him out & says a lot about you.”

Kenan saw the love and posted a tweet, embedded in this post.
