Bill Cosby's Spokesperson Calls Eddie Murphy 'Hollywood Slave' After 'SNL' Dig

Bill Cosby is slamming Eddie Murphy.

While hosting Saturday Night Live on Saturday (December 21), the 58-year-old Dolemite is My Name actor made a dig at the 82-year-old disgraced actor.

During his opening monologue, Eddie joked that if you told him 30 years ago that he would be a stay-at-home dad with 10 kids while Bill was in jail, he would have taken that bet. He then imitated Bill‘s voice, calling himself “America’s Dad.”

The following day, Bill‘s publicist, Andrew Wyatt, slammed Eddie for “attacking” Bill and called Eddie a “Hollywood slave.”

“Mr. Cosby became the first Black to win an Emmy for his role in I Spy and Mr. Cosby broke color barriers in the Entertainment Industry, so that Blacks like Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappell, Kevin Hart and et al., could have an opportunity to showcase their talents for many generations to come. It is sad that Mr. Murphy would take this glorious moment of returning to SNL and make disparaging remarks against Mr. Cosby. One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave,” the statement on Instagram reads.

“Remember, Mr. Murphy, that Bill Cosby became legendary because he used comedy to humanize all races, religions and genders; but your attacking Mr. Cosby helps you embark on just becoming click bait. Hopefully, you will be amenable to having a meeting of the minds conversation, in order to discuss how we can use our collective platforms to enhance Black people rather than bringing all of us down together,” Bill‘s publicist concluded.

Bill is currently serving a three to 10 year prison sentence after being convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault last year.

“Now every time I see it, I feel like an idiot,” he added.

Eddie was also asked to be in the original Ghostbusters movie, but he had to pass as he was already attached to Beverly Hills Cop.

“Does that seem like a lot to you or does that seem OK?” DeGeneres asked as a few audience members gasped. “It seems OK,” Eddie quipped. “It’s funny the reaction the audience gives. Men kind of look at me like, ‘He’s crazy. How much did that s— cost?’ And women, there’s something sexy about it. ‘Eddie Murphy must be doing his thing. Eddie Murphy be gettin’ it in.’”

Eddie also discusses starring in the upcoming Coming to America sequel.

“I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out,” Eddie confirms. “That movie more than any picture that I’ve done, I don’t know what it is in the culture — like, on Halloween, some people get dressed up as characters from the movie — so a lot of people had this exception. People would say to me when they found out I was doing it, ‘Don’t f— that movie up. Don’t mess with it.’ So we’ve gone above and beyond about what anybody would thing. I’m really, really happy with it.”
