Debra Messing & Eric McCormack Clarify Their Call for List of Hollywood's Trump Supporters

Debra Messing and Eric McCormack are clarifying the intentions behind their call for a list of Hollywood stars attending a fundraiser for President Trump‘s re-election campaign.

The Will & Grace co-stars previously took to Twitter requesting for the media to report on who attended the event. Eric said he wanted the info “so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with.”

Trump released some tweets slamming Debra and The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg also called out the stars, saying that their messages made her think of the Hollywood blacklist from the 1940s and 50s.

On Monday (September 3), Eric wrote this message on his Instagram account: “I want to be clear about my social media post from last week, which has been misinterpreted in a very upsetting way. I absolutely do not support blacklists or discrimination of any kind, as anyone who knows me would attest.”

Eric added, “I’d simply like to understand where Trump’s major donations are coming from, which is a matter of public record. I am holding myself responsible for making educated and informed decisions that I can morally and ethically stand by and to do that, transparency is essential.”

Debra reposted the message and said, “My friend @eric_mccormack posted this today. It perfectly explains the intent behind each of our posts concerning the fundraiser. I am posting it here because, honestly, I couldn’t have said it better.”

“Please print a list of all attendees please. The public has a right to know,” Debra wrote.

“Kindly report on everyone attending this event, so the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with. Thx,” Eric wrote.

“I have not forgotten that when it was announced that I was going to do The Apprentice, and when it then became a big hit, helping NBC’s failed lineup greatly, @DebraMessing came up to me at an Upfront & profusely thanked me, even calling me ’Sir.’ How times have changed!,” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“Now that I know I have your attention @realDonaldTrump, please read this thread— a PARTIAL list of souls lost to preventable, devastating gun violence. America wants universal background checks. The majority of Americans want assault weapons ban. Take Action and I’ll call you Sir,” she wrote back.

Matt Bomer, Vanessa Bayer & Blythe Danner Set to Return for 'Will & Grace' Final Season!

Will & Grace may be coming to an end again, but there’s still plenty to look forward to!

It has just been confirmed that Matt Bomer, Vanessa Bayer and Blythe Danner are all set to return for the final 2020 season – the third season after the reboot, according to The Wrap.

All three actors have recurring roles, with Matt Bomer coming back as Will’s (Eric McCormack) boyfriend, McCoy Whitman, Vanessa Bayer returning as Amy, a bakery owner from Karen’s (Megan Mullally) past, and Blythe Danner reprising her role as Will’s mother, Marilyn Truman.

Last month, NBC revealed the Will & Grace revival would end with its upcoming third season. The show originally ran from 1998 to 2006, followed by a successful relaunch in 2017.

The final season will be 18-episodes and debuts in 2020, with a premiere date to be announced at a later date.

'Will & Grace' To End After Upcoming 2020 Season

The show originally ran from 1998 to 2006, followed by a successful relaunch in 2017.

“We think of the Will & Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis – 51 is not enough, 53 is too many. That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will & Grace,” producers said in a statement on Thursday (July 25).

“In 2016, Bob Greenblatt came to us with the idea of doing a 10-episode reboot of Will & Grace. They say you can’t go home again, but we did. And now, three seasons and 52 episodes later, we’re even more proud of something we never thought we’d get a chance to do again. We have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience twice. And for that, we owe a double debt of gratitude to NBC, this show’s supportive and caring home since day one.”

The premiere date for the third and final season of the reboot has not yet been revealed.
