Eric McCormack hit Stephen Colbert‘s couch on The Late Show on Wednesday (November 28) and talked all about finally receiving star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

“It’s a strange thing because of course it’s an incredible honor but it’s also your name in stone, in cold stone on the dirty ground,” the 55-year-old actor joked. “I felt like scrooge.”

“Debra Messing‘s star is right beside me,” Eric revealed about his Will & Grace co-star. “She got hers first. It was humbling Stephen, it was a year ago. A year more famous.”

Eric also talked about getting Michael Douglas to present the star to him and dished about the upcoming third season of his Netflix series, Travelers – Watch the trailer below!

Eric McCormack has opened up about how he believes a gay actor “would probably” play his gay role in Will & Grace, if casting happened in 2018.

“I probably wouldn’t get anywhere near this role,” the 55-year-old actor told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“I think it wasn’t a terrible thing in 1998 that a straight guy played the role, but I’m glad that times are changing, and I’m glad that nowadays a Will Truman would probably be cast with someone who is gay,” Eric added. “But does that mean that now when you walk into a casting room you have to state whether you are straight or gay? I don’t know.”

Eric was presented the Point Impact Award by Cheyenne at the event celebrating future LGBTQ leaders, honor our champions, and support Point Scholars from around the nation.

“Huge thanks to the @PointFoundation for the incredible work they do for #LGBTQ youth, creating scholarships and leaders,” Eric tweeted. “And thanks to my friend @cheyennejackson for his beautiful words ❤️”

The two stars emceed the 2018 Rape Foundation Annual Brunch on Sunday (October 7) in Los Angeles.

The Rape Foundation event was held to benefit the Rape Treatment Center and Stuart House at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.

The center provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art, free care for rape victims and sexually abused children, and prevention education programs in our community and across the country.

Eric McCormack stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday night (October 2) and dished about his huge idea for a secret lover storyline for his Will & Grace character, Will Truman.

“I’ve been pitching that Will has a secret Canadian lover for the entire [season], and then it would be revealed in the season finale that it’s Justin Trudeau,” the 55-year-old actor explained. “I think he’d be game.”

Eric also talked about enjoying the more political-driven focus of the revived series.

“We just did a show where Jack and Will go to Texas and experience all of that homophobia,” Eric revealed. “Meanwhile, Karen tags along with us to see the portion of the wall that she sponsored.”

During their appearance, the Will & Grace cast reminisced about the last time they were on the show together in 2004. Debra spoke about celebrating her 50th birthday, and her co-stars joked they gave her alcohol, cash and advice as her gift.

Eric talked about recently receiving his star on the Walk of Fame next to Debra’s and how the thought of them being together forever made Debra emotional. Sean talked about his experience of guest-hosting Ellen last May.

Later, the cast talked about shooting the pilot twenty years ago. Megan raved about Sean’s performance during his very first scene in his very first television role.

They also revealed their pre-show ritual: a quick prayer and dancing on each other. Plus, Debra talked about David Schwimmer joining the cast as her boyfriend. They also played a game of “You Bet Your Work Wife.”
