Fresh Off the Boat is coming to an end.

The ABC series will wrap production after six seasons, THR reported on Friday (November 8).

The show will finish after 15 episodes this season, and the final two episodes will serve as the series finale. A date has not yet been set for the finale episodes, but it will likely happen in early 2020.

Constance Wu made headlines earlier in the year for being vocal on social media about her unhappiness with the show’s Season 6 renewal due to the need to give up another project.

Fresh Off the Boat first premiered in 2015, and became the first network comedy based on an Asian-American family since Margaret Cho‘s All American Girl in 1994.

New characters will be introduced on the ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat and they could potentially be getting a spinoff series!

The new characters will be introduced in an episode that will start filming in mid-November, according to Variety.

The potential spinoff series is currently titled Magic Motor Inn and would “center on an Indian family whose daughter goes to school with Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang).”

Vir Das has been cast as the father and Preity G. Zinta has been cast as the mother. Fresh Off the Boat writer Rachna Fruchbom is attached to write the potential show. If the network decides to move forward with the spinoff, a format pilot episode will be produced.

Randall Park is BTS obsessed!

The 45-year-old Fresh Off the Boat actor made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday (September 26).

The Neighborhood actress Beth Behrs and comedian Whitney Cummings filled in as guest co-hosts for the day.

During his appearance, Randall commiserated with the guest co-hosts over his bad audition story and bonded with Beth over goats.

He then explained why he got emotional at a BTS concert and said he’s not ashamed of his love for the massively popular K-pop group. Later on, Beth and Whitney challenged Randall and tWitch to a game of “Last Dance.”

Constance Wu made headlines last month after she tweeted her frustration following the renewal of her series Fresh Off the Boat and now co-star Randall Park is reacting.

The 37-year-old actress later said that she was upset that she had to turn down a project because Fresh Off the Boat was renewed for another season and she was obligated to work on the show.

During an appearance on Marc Malkin‘s podcast The Big Ticket, Randall agreed with the host that he can “understand” where she was coming from.

“I was prepared for it to not get picked up, and I was excited by these others things I could do, but if it did get picked up it’s like, that’s all I ever wanted,” Randall said. “All I ever wanted was a job and a regular job to work with great people.”
