Henry Zaga is one of the breakout stars of the new X-Men spinoff movie The New Mutants, which was released in theaters earlier this year.
Because of the pandemic, not many people got a chance to check out the movie in theaters, but now it’s available to watch at home. To celebrate the Blu-ray/4K/Digital release of the film, we chatted with Henry to learn more about him.
The 27-year-old Brazilian actor plays Roberto da Costa in The New Mutants. You might also recognize him from roles in 13 Reasons Why, Looking for Alaska, and the upcoming CBS All Access series The Stand.
Here are 10 Fun Facts about Henry:
- I used to paint a lot as a teen. There are many paintings of mine throughout my childhood home.
- My favorite food is Brazil’s Heritage dish Feijoada, which is a pork stew cooked in black beans and local spices. Side garnishes include fresh orange slices, fried yucca flour, steamed kale and pork ear chips.
- I became obsessed with Japanese culture at the age of 10 by watching Anime and learning Judo. I’ve visited Japan twice for over a month each time to bask in as much of the culture as possible, and intend to live there some day (even if just for a bit).
- My sister Fernanda had a poetry book published in Brazil, Portugal and Spain at the age of 22 with over 100 poems in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
- I spent most of my childhood living between Brasília (hometown) and Florianópolis, where my Grandpa had a little beach hotel, and would teach me how to paint porcelain bowls, vases, and other mediums alike.
