A TikTok Fan Discovered That 'Hocus Pocus' & 'Halloweentown' Are Connected Together In This Way

When you think of Halloween movies, you probably think Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown straight away.

They both are two classic movies that you probably watch without fail every spooky season – but have you noticed that they were connected? One TikTok fan did!

@lyssalyssalyssahh spotted a huge Easter Egg while watching an airing of Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge this week.

Towards the end of the film, as Sophie runs around Halloweentown bringing back all the color to the residents of the town. One citizen in particular – a witch – is returned back into her old self and after the spell works, it’s revealed she wore a burgundy costume with a purple cape – the same one as Sarah Jessica Parker wears in Hocus Pocus.

According to Lyssa, she’s theorizing that the two films are in the same universe. She even tagged Kimberly J. Brown, who played Marnie in the film series, for answers.

Disney+ Brings In Adam Shankman To Direct 'Hocus Pocus 2'

Adam Shankman is set to direct Disney+’s upcoming Hocus Pocus 2!

Variety reports that the sequel will be a follow up tot he iconic 1993 film, which starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the witchy Sanderson sisters, who were resurrected and determined to become immortal by feeding off the souls of children.

While there’s no confirmation if the three will return for the movie, all of them have expressed interest.

While Bette previously said that a sequel wouldn’t happen, she didn’t say no about returning if it did.

During a Reddit AMA in 2014, she said that “I have canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it, but we have no say in it. So if you want a Hocus Pocus 2, ask the Walt Disney company.”

Sarah is also on board, sharing during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live that she “would love that. I think we’ve all been fairly vocal about being very keen but that hasn’t created any ground swell of movement.”
