We caught up with Janel to discuss everything she’s up to lately. Check out the interview below, as well as a gorgeous photo spread shot and glammed by Glenn Nutley from Hello Darling Salon.

You’ve been in everything lately. How lucky do you feel right now?

Well that’s nice of you to say! I feel very grateful for work. It’s what I love to do, and each time I work on something new, I feel myself learning and growing more as an actress and person. Grateful is definitely the word.

Happy Birthday, too! What did you do to celebrate?

Thank you! My husband and sister came in for the day. We had a table read in Portland, and my PLL family surprised me with a cake. Spent the rest of the day with my sis and hubby, enjoying the city, and Sasha Pieterse and her husband Hudson joined us for pool later. It was perfect!

You’re currently in Portland, working on The Perfectionists. How does it feel to finally be back in Mona’s shoes? Familiar or different?

Both. I slip back into her shoes so easily after 7 years, I feel like I know her so well. However, she is a little evolving. And that is something I love about Mona and our wonderful writers…they also keep me on my toes as an actress. Portland is an amazing city, and I’m so happy to be back in the PLL world, but with new stories and faces.

Aly & AJ Spill on New EP 'Ten Years,' First Dates & Social Media (Exclusive)

It’s been 10 years since Aly & AJ last released music under their eponymous name but they’re ready for a major comeback!

The sister duo shared their new single “Take Me” earlier this summer and are getting ready to debut their EP Ten Years soon!

Just Jared recently went behind-the-scenes of Aly & AJ‘s Refinery29 shoot and caught up with them about everything from inspirations to growing up Disney and social media.

Here’s what Aly & AJ had to share:

JJ: Are there any other major life events in the past ten years that have informed your new music?

Aly: I think moving out of our family home, having our parents go through a divorce and then my marriage 2 years ago were all big events that affected this new music. We’ve always been artists that write about personal experiences so it’s something that’s bound to happen when getting into the studio.

'Big Brother' Winners Talk Strategy, Shomances, & Bitter Juries

Tonight marks the big premiere of Big Brother 19.

We caught up with five former winners – Dan Gheesling, Derrick Levasseur, Andy Herren, Will Kirby, and Rachel Reilly – to talk about what it takes to make it to the end and walk away with $500K.

We covered everything from strategy and alliances, to twists, showmances, and yes, even another potential All-Stars season.

Big Brother premieres tonight, June 28 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

If you were coaching a new player going into the game, what would be the single best piece of advice you’d give them?

Derrick: Whenever you feel like speaking up or saying something that might hurt your game – take a second, remember why you’re there and who you’re playing for. Most of the time you’ll decide it’s better to stay quiet. People who know how to keep their mouth shut usually go far in the game.

Dan: I would say talk as little as possible and listen way more than you think you should. In the house, people do the exact opposite. It’s a house full of Type-A personalities. People will just run their mouths for days. If you can be quiet and listen…it doesn’t make for good TV, but if you want to win the show, you’re going to do well. Just chill out the first three to four weeks. Listen, make friends, don’t do anything out of line, don’t get into fights, and you’ll do fine. You’ll be in a position where you’ll have a shot to win.

Dr. Will: Milli Vanilli stills sells albums but true fans know. They always know. And worse? I’ll know. And you’ll know. And it will always haunt you.

Rachel: I always tell newbies to give it their all, play with their hearts, be themselves, don’t put on a show, and compete like every competition you could go home!

Andy: Listen to people. Don’t try to take control of the game right away. Sit back, gauge who you like and who you can trust, and work with those people. If you’re a good social player, those players will also gravitate toward you, even if they’re in an alliance that formed immediately. It is dumb to form an alliance right away, because chances are some people in that alliance will annoy others. If you form an alliance with your favorite people a week in, it has a good shot at being effective…This will get you through a good 2/3 of the game, and then you need to work on getting some of these people out during the final third.

Everything, Everything's Amandla Stenberg & Nick Robinson Happy to 'Ride First Wave' Of Interracial Represenation in Film

Everything, Everything is a really beautiful love story about taking risks – which also happens to feature an interracial couple at the center of that love story.

We recently caught up with stars Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson about how Hollywood is (slowly) making its way toward more representation in film.

“I think that usually when you have a film with an interracial couple, that is the story,” Nick told JustJared.com “That is what the film is highlighting. What I think is so great about this is that’s not explicit in the film. It’s actually barely brought up, which I think is just as powerful.”

“I think that there’s a major shift in diversity in media right now because there has to be. We’re demanding it,” Amandla added. “That’s what so special and important about this story. I think there’s a fresh wave of diversity in media and I think fortunately for Nick and I. we get to ride that first wave in this more mainstream pop material, which is exciting.”

Everything, Everything is in theaters now.

Ashley Tisdale Takes Pride in Her 'Illuminate' Beauty Products

Ashley Tisdale continues to run a super successful beauty line.

We recently caught up with the actress/singer/beauty expert to chat about her Illuminate by Ashley Tisdale collection, and in particular, her brand new Goddess palette.

“The Goddess palette was created a year ago,” Ashley told JustJared.com. “Also people don’t realize we will get the samples and there could be the smallest thing off about it and has to be sent back. I take pride in giving my customer products that is as perfect as it can be.”

So what made her create her own products in the first place?

“I felt everything was so expensive,” Ashley said. “I wanted to create something that didn’t lose the quality but was affordable. I’m a huge fan Of BH Cosmestics specifically for that. I think their products hold up next to any line in Sephora, with makeup you’re consistently wanting to try new things and it makeup gets old so you need to replace it. Always remember it’s not about the name on the box or the price it’s about how good the product is!”

To purchase products, visit IlluminateCosmetics.com.

'Vampire Diaries' EP Julie Plec Explains Series Finale Death

The Vampire Diaries will claim – at least – one last victim in its series finale tomorrow night.

It has been confirmed that one of the core characters will die during the final hour.

This likely includes Stefan (Paul Wesley), Dmaon (Ian Somerhalder), Caroline (Candice King), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Matt (Zach Roerig), and Alaric (Matt Davis).

We recently caught up with executive producer Julie Plec about what went into that decision.

“It just sort of felt that when you’re dealing with life and death things – in this case, will Mystic Falls burn? Will it survive? – someone is going to have to be murdered in the fight against the bad guy,” Julie told us. “So there were a lot of discussions about who that should be. And the choice of who it was, was made entirely out of character, bringing a character full circle to its proper conclusion.”

The Vampire Diaries series finale airs Friday, March 10 @ 8PM on The CW.
