Eiza Gonzalez Lands Lead Female Role in 'Ambulance' Opposite Jake Gyllenhaal

Eiza Gonzalez will be starring opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming action-thriller Ambulance, which is being directed by Michael Bay.

The 30-year-old actress’ role in the movie is being kept under wraps and not much is known about the plot of the film either.

Deadline reports that the film is said to be in “the vein of the great action thrillers of the ’90s like Speed and Bay’s Bad Boys.” Also starring in the movie is Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who recently won an Emmy for his work on Watchmen.

Next up for Eiza are the Netflix movie I Care a Lot and the upcoming action pic Godzilla vs. Kong, which will be released on HBO Max and in theaters on the same date in 2021.

“Still buzzing!!!!! Thrilled to say the least,” Eiza said on her Instagram Stories along with a screencap of the casting announcement. She also shared a photo of the script on her Instagram feed.

Earlier this month, Eiza revealed the results of her allergy test and she’s allergic to so many things.

David Fincher Says Jake Gyllenhaal Was 'Very Distracted' While Filming 2007's 'Zodiac'

David Fincher is touching upon the tensions he and Jake Gyllenhaal faced while making 2007′s Zodiac.

In a former interview, Jake previously said that the famed director “paints with people” and “it’s tough to be a color.”

Fincher is now responding in a new interview, where he called their drama on set an “extremely simple” situation.

Jake was in the unenviable position of being very young and having a lot of people vie for his attention, while working for someone who does not allow you to take a day off,” David told the New York Times. “I believe you have to have everything out of your peripheral vision….I don’t think he’d ever been asked to concentrate on minutiae, and I think he was very distracted. He had a lot of people whispering that Jarhead was going to be this massive movie and put him in this other league, and every weekend he was being pulled to go to the Santa Barbara film festival and the Palm Springs film festival and the [expletive] Catalina film festival. And when he’d show up for work, he was very scattered.”

David continued, adding that the tension died down by the end of filming and Jake even apologized. “I don’t want to make excuses for my behavior. There are definitely times when I can be confrontational if I see someone slacking. People go through rough patches all the time. I do. So I try to be compassionate about it. But. It’s: Four. Hundred. Thousand. Dollars. A day. And we might not get a chance to come back and do it again,” he added.

“I tell actors all the time: I’m not going to cut around your hangover, I’m not going to cut around your dog dying, I’m not going to cut around the fact that you just fired your agent or your agent just fired you,” he added. “Once you get here, the only thing I care about is, Did we tell the story?”

David also just criticized one of the biggest films of the past few years.

Jake Gyllenhaal to Play Author of 'The Woman in the Window' in TV Series About His Complex Life

Jake Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of an upcoming television series based on The New Yorker article A Suspense Novelist’s Trail of Deceptions!

The series will follow the complex life of Dan Mallory, a former book editor who released his debut novel “The Woman in the Window” under the pseudonym A.J. Finn. The book was a smash hit and went to number one on the New York Times Bestseller list, marking the first time that a debut novel has reached that achievement in 12 years.

The Woman in the Window has also been adapted into a movie starring Amy Adams.

Deadline reports that the series will “follow an unreliable narrator who nurses brain tumors he does not have and mourns family members who are not dead while preying on people’s sympathy to get away with almost anything.”

Janicza Bravo, the writer and director of the upcoming movie Zola, will write and direct the series, which she is also executive producing.

“What may have started out as my dog ate homework turns into my mother died of cancers, my brother took his life and I have a double doctorate,” Janicza said in a statement. “Our protagonist is white, male and pathological. There is a void in him and he fills it by duping people. He’s a scammer. The series examines white identity and how we as an audience participate in making room for this behavior. Getting to partner with Annapurna and Nine Stories is a gift and I am most thrilled for what lies ahead.”

Jake recently revealed a very personal detail about one of his celeb friends.
