Jamie Lynn Spears Named Trustee of Britney Spears' Fortune

Britney Spears‘ sister, Jamie Lynn, is now the trustee of a trust that holds the fortune belonging to the 38-year-old Glory pop star, The Blast reported Tuesday (August 25).

According to legal documents obtained by the outlet, Jamie Lynn was named trustee of the “SJB Revocable Trust,” set up by Britney in 2004 to protect her vast fortune and provide for her children’s financial future.

The trust was “amended in 2018, naming Jamie Lynn as the ‘trustee’ and the move was signed off on by her co-conservators Andrew Wallet, and their father Jamie Spears. According to the documents, while alive Britney Spears is the ‘sole beneficiary’ of the SJB Trust, but it outlines what steps are to be taken if she passes away.”

Jamie is asking the court to approve the appointment of Fidelity Financial Management to create “blocked accounts” that will hold all of Britney‘s assets and serve as advisors with her investments, the documents also outline.

It’s “unclear if Jamie is asking to move the assets to these accounts now, or in the event of Britney‘s death. But, the trust outlines exactly what should happen to her fortune in the case of her death…in other words, if she passes away, Jamie Lynn will ensure that the assets and cash be transferred to the trust set up to take care of her children.”

This is the first time her sister has been named in connection to her conservatorship.

Her mother, Lynne Spears, recently filed to become more involved in this trust.

At the same time, if you didn’t know, there is a viral #FreeBritney movement on social media, as many fans are concerned about Britney‘s well-being under a conservatorship managed by her father Jamie Spears since 2008.

“How about your sister’s OBVIOUS mental illness? Why don’t you speak on that?” a person wrote.

“You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters. She is a strong, badass, unstoppable woman, and that’s the only thing that is OBVIOUS,” Jamie Lynn hit back.

“You guys (the family) need to speak out and clarify all these assumptions. I love you, but around this sensitive situation some clarification is needed for both sides. People need to understand, not assume,” another fan wrote.

“I would never speak out just to clarify things to the public, when the person it pertains to does not want it to happen. I’d rather take all the hate, then speak about someone else’s personal matter, that they want to be kept private,” she responded.

Another fan expressed that “some of us are spimply [sp] interested in what is going on because…we care,” to which she said: “I really appreciate you reaching out in such a respectful way. Your love and support is very much appreciated from me and my family.”

Lynne Spears recently filed this paperwork to get involved in Britney‘s conservatorship.

When asked if Britney has any music plans, she said “I don’t think so.”

“I mean, right now, she’s quarantining in L.A. But, in general, she’s kind of just relaxing. And I think that’s good. Britney deserves that. She’s worked her ass off. So if she wants to make another album, great. But if she doesn’t feel like it, she doesn’t have to. She’s given the world a lot. I don’t think there are plans for anything — at the moment,” Jamie Lynn said.

That said, she’s not retiring!

“No, no, no. Obviously, right now, she’s just trying to quarantine. She’s taking it day by day. And when she wants to make music, she’ll make it. I don’t think you can ever retire someone from their passion,” she went on to say.

“My oldest daughter was in a really bad accident,” she said, adding “with every safety measure that could be taken” when she “somehow or another, drove into the water.”

“We dove in and we were able to rescue her. When we were finally able to get her out of the water…and the first responders took from me, we thought she was gone. We thought we lost our daughter,” she revealed.

“That moment, I felt everything that you can feel, I think, as far as the worst. There’s nothing worse than looking at your child and just feeling that you’ve failed her. And I didn’t want her to think that I couldn’t save her.”

She then said she was air-lifted to the hospital, and her condition was critical.

“She wasn’t responding to anything and so it was not looking good for us,” she explained, saying she was asking for a priest to be let into the intensive care unit to pray for her daughter.

“He went to put the oil on her and read the rites and she sat up and started kicking, and her hands started grabbing at all the things. That was our first sign that she was there.”

“I’ve faced my worst fear now. What else can I mess up or do wrong that will be as horrible as that? Nothing. There’s nothing. God gave me the blessing of giving me my daughter back. I lost her and I got her back…so I don’t get to make any excuses. I’ve been given the best the biggest blessing you can be given. I’m not allowed to waste a day on this earth complaining or being ungrateful.”

Here’s what Jamie Lynn has been doing while in quarantine.
