Jesse Williams is sticking around Grey’s Anatomy!

The 37-year-old actor just inked a new two-season contract to remain on the show, according to Deadline.

Back in May when the show was renewed for seasons 16 and 17, Jesse was the only cast member without a deal beyond the current season.

Now that Jesse has been confirmed, he will reportedly be doing a limited number of episodes as he prepares for his Broadway debut in Take Me Out.

Jesse has been a part of Grey’s Anatomy since season 6, where he was quickly promoted to a series regular.

The theme of this year’s gala is “A Journey to the Pride Lands,” in honor of Disney’s upcoming CGI remake of The Lion King, which Tina‘s daughter Beyoncé stars as Nala.

Jesse Williams is heading to Broadway next year in a revival of the play Take Me Out!

The 37-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actor will play the role of Darren Lemming, a character originated by Daniel Sunjata in the first Broadway production back in 2003.

The play was controversial at the time as many of the male stars went full frontal during a shower scene.

Here is a synopsis of the groundbreaking play: “When Darren Lemming (Williams), the star center fielder for the Empires, comes out of the closet, the reception off the field reveals a barrage of long-held unspoken prejudices. Facing some hostile teammates and fraught friendships, Darren is forced to contend with the challenges of being a gay person of color within the confines of a classic American institution. As the Empires struggle to rally toward a championship season, the players and their fans begin to question tradition, their loyalties, and the price of victory.”

The production will begin previews at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater on April 2, 2020 ahead of an opening night performance on April 23, 2020.

Aryn Drake-Lee is speaking out about her divorce from Grey’s Anatomy‘s Jesse Williams and what went down after their April 2017 separation.

“When the divorce process started I had two nursing babies, and I am the one that ran our household for the 14 and a half years that he and I were together in the same house. And for our children, and for the creation of the businesses that we built together when I left my career in New York for us to move to California to pursue his, and then as a result built it…I knew, as the one that was really holding it all together, that I didn’t have a lot of room to fall, even though I was falling,” Aryn told People.

“I was in a place where I needed the support that was going to help to ground me. Most everybody I had spent the eight years here in LA with all went with him,” Aryn said. “It was a blessing in disguise because it was a real slap in the face to see who was around us and why, and at that point it became very clear. And it cleared a pathway for me to make a shift and get back onto a path that was more in alignment with how I wanted to live my life.”

She continued, “Hollywood and I bump heads. It was never my value system, and it was never something that I was striving for. It never felt comfortable for me because of how superficial it was. And then that all became abundantly clear when everybody went left.”

Now, things are different for Aryn, who said, “I was able to really find people that were more in alignment with my values in how they are living their lives and how they want to raise their children. I found community.”

And as for all the reports surrounding the drama in their current relationship, she said, “Much of what they say is wrong. But I’m not interested in a tit-for-tat, because that’s just never ending. People believe what they want to believe because it’s easy.”

In addition to talking about her split from the Grey’s Anatomy star, Aryn also spoke about starting the new podcast BBSARETRASH (Babies Are Trash) with a fellow mom pal.

Jesse and Aryn have two children together: Sadie, 5 and Maceo, 3.

The cute couple stepped out last weekend while attending the Ozwald Boateng Harlem runway show at the Apollo Theater in New York City.

While Jesse and Taylour previously stopped by some Oscars parties together and also coupled up at Coachella last month, this is their first time on a red carpet posing for photographers.

Jesse is currently in the middle of a legal battle with his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee, who is trying to get him to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills.

The 37-year-old actor filed papers to deny his ex-wife’s motion requesting that he pay her $200,000 towards legal fees in their ongoing divorce case, according to The Blast on Tuesday (April 30).

In the paperwork, Jesse claims that he has already paid $270,000 in her legal bills and also accuses her of spending support payments on artwork rather than lawyers.

“This is not a free ride,” he reportedly states in the documents.

Jesse and Aryn split after five years of marriage in 2017. They have two children together.

The 37-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actor and director and 28-year-old Hit the Floor actress were spotted picking up something to eat while they were at weekend two of 2019 Coachella Music Festival on Saturday afternoon (April 20) in Indio, Calif.

Jesse kept things cool in an all black outfit and blue hat while Taylour sported a yellow bodysuit and cutoff denim shorts as they spent the the day at the music festival.

Jesse and Taylour have been linked to each other since February when they were photographed holding hands leaving Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s After Oscars Party.
