Jodie Turner-Smith is celebrating her 34th birthday today (September 7) and her husband Joshua Jackson wrote the sweetest note for her on Instagram!

The Queen & Slim actress and Joshua, 42, welcomed their first child together back in April.

“Happy Birthday my beautiful wife,” Josh wrote on his Instagram page along with a beautiful photo of Jodie.

He continued, “Thank you for choosing to share your light with me. Thank you for walking this path of life as my wife. Thank you for bringing our daughter into the world.”

“This last year has been the happiest whirlwind of my life. I can’t wait to see what all the years to come bring our way. Love, Josh,” he concluded.

In a recent interview, Jodie opened up about why she chose to have a home birth instead of one in a hospital.

“We had already decided on a home birth, because of concerns about negative birth outcomes for black women in America – according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the risk of pregnancy-related deaths is more than three times greater for black women than for white women, pointing, it seems to me, to systemic racism. We never imagined that in the coming weeks, hospitals around the country would begin restricting who could be present in the birthing rooms, forcing mothers to deliver without the support person or people of their choice. Delivering at home ensured that I had what every single woman deserves to have: full agency in determining my birth support,” Jodie told British Vogue.

Jodie and Joshua welcomed their first child – a daughter – back in April. We do not yet know the name of their newborn but we can’t wait to find out!

Jodie kept things cool and casual in a white T-shirt and lightwashed jeans while staying safe in a floral-print face mask for her day out.

Earlier this year, Jodie and husband Joshua Jackson welcomed a baby girl. As of right now, they haven’t announced their daughter’s name yet.

It was recently announced that Jodie will be starring alongside John Boyega and Felicity Jones in the upcoming movie Borderland. Production is set to begin in 2021 in the U.K.

John Boyega has booked his first movie role after taking part in a Black Lives Matter protest.

The 28-year-old actor will star in Borderland, according to Deadline.

The film will follow an Irish paramilitary, Michael, who witnesses the shooting of his pregnant wife at the hands of an SAS sergeant named Tempest when a border ambush goes wrong.

When Tempest is sent back to London to lead a covert counter-terrorist operation, Michael joins a ruthless active service unit (ASU) wreaking havoc in the capital. For Michael, the mission is personal – to hunt down Tempest – and he’ll stop at nothing to avenge his wife’s death.

John will star as Tempest in the movie, opposite Jack Reynor, Jodie Turner-Smith and Felicity Jones.

The site reports that filming is expected to start in early 2021 in the UK.

This is the first role for John after he shared that he might not have a career after attending and speaking out during a protest.

Joshua Jackson is paying tribute to his wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, on her first Mother’s Day with a thoughtful Instagram.

In the post, the 41-year-old actor thanks Jodie for all that she does for him and their baby girl, and also thanks her for making him a dad.

“Dear Jodie, On this most special of mothers days I want to thank you for the being the light that you are. For the passion with which you threw yourself into nurturing and protecting our child when she was in your womb,” he wrote.

Joshua continues, “For the dedication and will you showed bringing her into the world. I have never witnessed a more powerful being than you through those moments. Thank you for the depth of grace you have found since our daughter has arrived. The commitment that you make look so effortless but I know is anything but.”

“Thank you for making me a father. For trusting me enough to embark on this journey together,” he adds. “I am humbled more and more every day by that. I love you. I love seeing you enter the pantheon of mothers. And I look forward to walking this path by your side as we nurture this little engine of joy you have blessed the world with.”

The 33-year-old Queen & Slim actress took to her Instagram Story to poke some fun at her new life after welcoming her daughter.

Jodie and husband Joshua Jackson welcomed their daughter less than a week ago on April 21.

As of right now, Jodie and the 41-year-old Little Fires Everywhere actor haven’t revealed their daughter’s name yet.

“Thanks everyone!” the 33-year-old actress tweeted to fans who sent her well wishes about her new daughter. “I’m a mother!”

Like everyone else stuck at home, Jodie has also been on a rampage, binging Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere, which happens to feature her husband. (There’s talks of a second season BTW.)
