Here’s what he had to say…

On taking over Johnny Depp’s role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise: “I don’t feel constrained at all. I think it would be creative suicide if I tried to copy what Johnny did. It’s also very specific. He’s a wonderful actor that nobody can copy, so trying to would be insane. Obviously, I have to find my own path.”

On the role his kids thought was the coolest, starring in Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” music video: “Yes, I was the bitch. But I never knew quite why or how I became the bitch…that made me go off on the cool meter among my kids. Bond— fine, OK. Star Wars movie—kind of OK. But working with Rihanna—just top-notch. You know, I might need to get in another video soon.”

On what he does on a night off: “There is a game in Europe called handball, which is very big. Denmark is in the world championships, and we’re reigning champions. So I’m going to watch that tonight. Everyone in the country follows it. It’s like—don’t ask me to explain it. Just watch it. It’s much easier.”

Johnny Depp‘s lawyers have served a subpoena to Elon Musk for his upcoming $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

After several delays, the trial is set to begin on May 17 in Virginia’s Fairfax County, though several hearings will happen in the coming weeks to determine certain details for the trial.

The subpoena that Musk was sent includes 24 requests that essentially cover “all communications between you and Ms. Heard regarding Mr. Depp,” according to Deadline. The outlet reports that included are specific requests about The Sun case, the ACLU and “any allegations of physical abuse or domestic violence committed by either Mr. Depp or Ms. Heard.”

If you didn’t know, Amber dated Elon after her relationship with Johnny ended and there were even accusations that they were together while the couple was still married.

Johnny has also served a subpoena to the ACLU for information on donations, the defamation suit and conversations about “the relationship between Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard.”

Last month, Amber‘s lawyers responded to a claim that she pocketed her divorce money, which she promised to donate to the ACLU and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

A new report claims that Amber Heard has not delivered on the promise to donate her full $7 million divorce settlement from Johnny Depp to charity.

The 34-year-old actress promised back in 2016 that she was going to donate $3.5 million to both Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Daily Mail has shared documents from CHLA that show Amber has only donated $100,000 so far to the organization, despite the charity reaching out to her in 2019 to ask if she still intended on delivering the remaining amount. The outlet says that Johnny‘s lawyers believe the promise to donate the money was a “sham.”

Now, Amber‘s lawyers are speaking out in response to the story.

A suspect connected to a break-in Johnny Depp‘s home has been arrested.

TMZ reports that according to law enforcement sources, the woman broke into Johnny‘s Hollywood Hills home over the weekend. The intruder set off the home’s security system and the police were called.

While the woman fled the property before law enforcement arrived, police were able to find her nearby and connected her to another recent burglary. Johnny was not at home during the attempted robbery and it is unclear if anything has been taken from his home.

It was announced in November that actor Mads Mikkelsen would be replacing Johnny as Gellert Grindelwald in the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts. Johnny resigned from the role following the loss of his libel case against British publishing company News Group Newspapers. He announced in a statement following his resignation that he plans to appeal the court’s decision.

Johnny Depp wants a retrial.

The 57-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor has asked the Court of Appeal to order a retrial of his libel claim against The Sun over an article calling him a “wife beater” amid ex Amber Heard‘s allegations, which a High Court judge found was “substantially true,” Daily Mail reported Thursday (December 24).

Johnny claims he “did not receive a fair trial” according to the report, and the judge’s ruling is “plainly wrong” and “manifestly unsafe,” via legal documents filed by his legal team with the Court of Appeal.

His barrister David Sherborne has asked the Court of Appeal to “set aside the judgment and order a new trial,” arguing that the judge in the case “failed to examine the evidence and the arguments with the care that the parties were entitled to expect and which a proper resolution of the issues demanded.”

He also said the judge’s findings were “bare assertions without any real explanation for how he reached these serious findings in the face of conflicting accounts of events.”

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen was recently confirmed as the replacement for Johnny Depp‘s character Grindelwald in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3 and now he’s opening up about playing the role.

In an interview with AP Entertainment, Mads confirmed that he has not spoken to Johnny about taking the role.

“No, I don’t know him,” he said (via The Independent). “I’ve met him once. I wish I had his phone number, but unfortunately that’s not the case.”

He added, “There’s nothing else I can do, to be honest. The only approach I can have is connect the bridge between what he did and what I’m gonna do and then we’ll see what lands.”

Mads previously discussed the film and said, “Job wise, it’s obviously super interesting and nice. It’s also a shocker that it came after what happened, which is just super sad. I wish both of them the best. These are sad circumstances.”

Mads Mikkelsen is opening up about taking over Johnny Depp‘s role in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 3.

The 55-year-old actor stepped into the part after Johnny parted ways with the film and Warner Bros. after he lost his libel case against The Sun earlier this year.

Mads was first rumored to take over the role in early November, but then denied the reports. Now that it has been confirmed he would step in, the Hannibal actor is opening up about how the role will change a bit.

“Well it’s going to be me, so that’s a difference,” Mads shared in an interview with EW. “This is the tricky part. We’re still working it out. There has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I’m going to do. And at the same time, I also have to make it my own.”

He added, “But also we have to find a few links [to the previous version of the character] and some bridges so it doesn’t completely detach from what he’s already masterfully achieved.”

Mads also spoke about the circumstances in which he took over the part.

“Job wise, it’s obviously super interesting and nice,” he shared. “It’s also a shocker that it came after what happened, which is just super sad. I wish both of them the best. These are sad circumstances. I hope both of them will be back in the saddle again really soon.”

Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently in production and will be released July 14, 2022.
