Showtime has announced that the upcoming American Gigolo series has been picked up and a 10-episode first season has been ordered!
Jon Bernthal is starring in the series, written and directed by Ray Donovan‘s David Hollander. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original film, will return to executive produce the series.

Josh Charles is headed back to television in a new, limited series from HBO.
The -year-old former Good Wife actor will star opposite Jon Bernthal and Jamie Hector in We Own This City, Variety reports.
The upcoming show, which will also be directed and produced by Reinaldo Marcus Green, is based on the book of the same name by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton.
It will be a six-hour limited series chronicling the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force — and the corruption and moral collapse that befell an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest were championed at the expense of actual police work.

Angelina Jolie stars in the brand new film Those Who Wish Me Dead and the first trailer is jam-packed!
The film is based on Michael Koryta’s novel of the same name about a 14-year-old boy who witnesses a brutal murder and is issued a false identity and hidden in a wilderness skills program for troubled teens while the killers slaughter anyone who gets in their way in a methodical quest to reach him. Angelina‘s character, Hannah, treks through the wilderness in order to protect him. The movie also stars Finn Little, Nicholas Hoult, Aidan Gillen, Jon Bernthal, and Tyler Perry.
The 45-year-old actress plays a smoke jumper, which is a specially trained wilderness firefighter, grappling from the loss of three lives she wasn’t able to save from a fire.
The film will hit HBO Max and theaters simultaneously on May 14. Check out the debut trailer!

The 44-year-old actor, best known for playing Shane Walsh on The Walking Dead and Frank Castle in The Punisher, was spotted on set multiple times this month in Los Angeles.
Jon filmed a scene on the beach on February 9 and he was seen changing out of his shirt while filming a driving scene on Monday (February 22) in Malibu, Calif.
The American Gigolo series will be a present-day reimagining of the iconic 1980 film, which turned Richard Gere into a star.
Deadline reports that Jon will play “Julian Kaye who is introduced 18 years after he’s been arrested for murder and struggling to find his footing in the modern-day Los Angeles sex industry, while seeking the truth about the set-up that sent him to prison all those years ago and also hoping to reconnect with Michelle, his one true love.”

Jon Bernthal has a new show in the works!
The 44-year-old The Walking Dead and The Punisher actor is set to create, star in and co-write a new drama series The Bottoms heading to Amazon, THR reports.
Here’s the show’s synopsis: “The Bottoms will follow the interconnected systems of family structures, friends and neighbors, law enforcement, and criminality all intersecting in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the early ’90s. Set in a particularly wild corner of the Deep South, the show will examine the inflection points, the blurred lines and the human cost on all sides.”
Jon has a busy year coming up. Lined up for 2021, Jon will be appearing in movies King Richard, The Many Saints of Newark, Those Who Wish Me Dead, and Small Engine Repair. He is also attached to star in FX’s upcoming series Platform.
BJ Novak is launching a series!
The 40-year-old The Office alum scored a series order for an upcoming half-hour anthology series at FX, Variety reported on Wednesday (May 6).

“Thrilled, excited, humbled — these are the words in every press release, and I can’t believe how much I actually mean them. This is my dream show, and FX is the dream place to make it. When I brought it to FX, I wondered if it went too far, and they told me, you can go further. I can’t wait to get started,” he said in a statement.
The series is described as “using the issues of our times as a jumping off point to tell character-driven stories about the world we live in today.” Two episodes have already been filmed, and each episode features a new cast.
Episode one stars Lucas Hedges, Kaitlyn Dever, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace, Ed Asner and Brendan Francis Scannell, among others.
The second episode stars Jon Bernthal, Boyd Holbrook, Amy Landecker, Beau Bridges and more.
