Kiefer Sutherland Stars in 'The Fugitive' on Quibi - Watch the Trailer!

Kiefer Sutherland is back in action!

The 53-year-old actor stars alongside Boyd Holbrook in the upcoming crime action series The Fugitive heading to Quibi next month.

The Fugitive is “an update of the beloved 1960s TV series and its 1993 film adaptation, stars Sutherland as Detective Clay Bryce, a cop in pursuit of Mike Ferro (Holbrook), who’s on the run after being falsely incriminated in a subway bombing. Mike must evade capture as he desperately tries to uncover the real perpetrator and clear his name,” according to EW.

The show also stars Natalie Martinez, Tiya Sircar, Brian Geraghty, Genesis Rodriguez, Glenn Howerton, Daniel David Stewart, and Keilani Arellanes.

The first season of The Fugitive will have 14 episodes, premiering on Monday, August 3. New episodes will then roll out every weekday through Tuesday, August 18.

Jim Carrey, Emmy Rossum, Kiefer Sutherland & More Pay Tribute to Joel Schumacher

Stars are sharing tributes to Joel Schumacher, who passed away this week.

Jim Carrey, Kiefer Sutherland, Emmy Rossum, Corey Feldman and many others shared their memories on social media of the late director, who was behind such films as St. Elmo’s Fire, The Lost Boys and Batman Forever.

Film fan Kevin Smith also posted a tribute to Joel, writing that he “met him on the set of the ill-fated Batman & Robin and he couldn’t have been nicer or more hospitable (and the man looooved to gossip).”

The Incredible Shrinking Woman was an early cable TV classic for me and I loved St Elmo’s Fire, The Client and Flawless,” Kevin added.

Jim shared in his own tribute, “Joel Schumacher has passed away. He saw deeper things in me than most and he lived a wonderfully creative and heroic life. I am grateful to have had him as a friend.”

Kiefer Sutherland's Mom Shirley Douglas Dies of Pneumonia

Kiefer Sutherland‘s mother Shirley Douglas has sadly passed away. She was 86-years-old.

The 53-year-old Designated Survivor took to Twitter on Sunday (April 5) to announce that his mother had died from pneumonia complications, clarifying that her death was “not related” to COVID-19.

“Early this morning my mother Shirley Douglas, passed away due to complications surrounding pneumonia (not related to COVID19),” Kiefer wrote. “My mother was an extraordinary woman who led an extraordinary life. Sadly she had been battling for her health for quite some time and we, as a family, knew this day was coming.”

Shirley was a famed in actress in both screen and on stage. She was an impassioned Canadian activist and was the daughter of Medicare founder Tommy Douglas.

“To any families who have lost loved ones unexpectedly to the Coronavirus, my heart breaks to you,” Kiefer continued. “Please stay safe.”

Quibi's 'The Fugitive' Series, Starring Kiefer Sutherland & Boyd Holbrook, Gets First Teaser

Quibi has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series The Fugitive, which stars Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook.

The series will be one of the first new shows from the upcoming streaming service, which launches in April 2020. The streamer will be the home of movie-quality shows designed to be watching on your phone. New episodes will launch every day and each one will be 10 minutes or less.

Here’s the synopsis for The Fugitive: “When a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on, blue-collar Mike Ferro (Holbrook) just wants to make sure his wife, Allison, and 10-year-old daughter, Pearl, are safe. But the faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully—and very publicly—accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop (Sutherland) heading the investigation can apprehend him. Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook are set to star in The Fugitive, a new series for Quibi based on 1993 movie starring Harrison Ford.

Production on the series will begin in mid-October in Los Angeles.

Kiefer Sutherland 'Seriously Injured' Following Fall in Europe

Kiefer Sutherland is recovering from a fall that left him “seriously injured.”

The 52-year-old actor was promoting his new album Reckless & Me on a European tour when he slipped on the stairs of his tour bus.

“Sadly I slipped on the stairs of the bus whilst traveling to Denmark and seriously injured a rib, making it difficult to breathe and impossible to sing,” Kiefer wrote on his Instagram.

The injury caused him to cancel the final three performances of the tour, which he says he plans to make up.

He continued, “I am so sorry for any inconvenience that I have caused to the fans who bought tickets. I will do everything I can to make it up to you. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Kiefer.”

Netflix In Early Talks to Revive 'Designated Survivor' After ABC's Cancellation

Fans of Designated Survivor should not give up on the show as there is a report that Netflix could be reviving the series following its cancellation by ABC!

Netflix is the international streaming home for Designated Survivor and THR reports that the service is in early talks to bring back the show for a third season.

Hulu has first rights to the show in the U.S. so a deal would have to be worked out with that streaming service.

If the show gets a third season, a new showrunner would be introduced, marking the show’s fifth person in the job.
