Kristen Bell has opened up about husband Dax Shepard‘s struggles with drugs and alcohol in the new issue of Self magazine.

The 40-year-old actress revealed that since Dax relapsed after 16 years of sobriety, they now keep drug tests in their home so she can test him whenever she sees fit.

“[He said,] ‘You can drug-test me whenever you want. I’m going to buy some tests. I’m going to have them in the house. If you ever feel nervous, I want you to have access to this and I’ll do it, no questions asked,’” Kristen revealed in the new issue of the magazine.

However, so far, she has not had to use one.

“He’s just good at trying, and that’s all you can ask of anyone. No one’s perfect,” Kristen added of Dax‘s commitment. “He’s proven to me that he is committed to evolving and he loves personal growth.”

Just recently, Dax opened up about how he told his two daughters, Lincoln and Delta, about his relapse.

Dax Shepard is getting candid with the world, including his children.

The 46-year-old actor opened up recently about his relapse after 16 years of sobriety, and that included telling his kids with Kristen Bell.

Dax opened up on Chelsea Clinton‘s In Fact podcast about how he told his children: Delta, 6, and Lincoln, 8.

“They knew when I relapsed, we explained, ‘Well, Daddy was on these pills for his surgery and then Daddy was a bad boy and he started getting his own pills.’ Yeah, we tell them the whole thing,” he said.

Kristen Bell has started filming her new Netflix series!

The 40-year-old actress was spotted on set of her upcoming limited series The Woman in the House on Tuesday afternoon (April 13) in Los Angeles.

Kristen can be seen sporting new bangs while wearing an emerald green coat while she filmed a scene in a suburban neighborhood.

Back in October it was announced that Kristen would be starring in The Woman in the House.

Kristen will be playing Anna, and for her, every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor moves in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder…Or did she?

The Bell-Shepard household has a new family member!

Kristen Bell took to Instagram on Tuesday (March 16) to announce that their family has adopted a three-legged rescue dog named Whiskey.

“Meet Whiskey! Before he was rescued he got in a fight with a truck and lost (a leg) but who needs four legs anyway?” the 40-year-old Frozen star wrote.

Kristen went on to say that Whiskey is getting along great with husband Dax Shepard, daughters Lincoln, 7, and Delta, 6, and their other dog Frank.

“He and dog Brother Frank share my lap (see photo evidence), the girls adore him and Dad lovingly tolerates him. No more truck stops for you, buddy. Welcome home 💗” Kristen added.

Kristen is a big animal lover, and recently fostered a puppy that was adopted by this actress!

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are splitting up – for a game show!

The married couple will be hosting a brand new game show for NBC called Family Game Fight.

The new series will have 10 episodes and see Kristen and Dax be “adopted” into a family of four, with the goal of helping them win $100,000.

“For one of our first dates, I invited Dax over for a game night at my house with a bunch of friends,” Kristen shared in the press release. “He said he fell in love with me there because I was a very tiny person bossing everyone around. I fell in love with him too because he’s a very large person who could boss everyone around, but chooses not to. I’m so excited to host ‘Family Game Fight’ and play all day with my best friend.”

“Kristen is my favorite human to work with,” Dax added. “She’s the most consistently funny, playful and joyful scene partner I’ve ever had. She’s also incredibly fun to look at.”

Just recently, Kristen and Dax opened up about the importance of them going to therapy.

Kristen Bell is opening up about her relationship with Dax Shepard as they navigate it after his relapse and during the pandemic.

Speaking with People, the 40-year-old actress revealed that she and Dax did seek out couples counseling to reconnect with one another.

“We’ve learned everything about each other because we haven’t been able to leave!” she shared with the magazine. “The main thing I’ve learned is something I learned from Glennon Doyle, which is that we just need to give each other grace under circumstances.”

Kristen adds that during the turbulent year, she and Dax were feeling the effects of being so close to each other all the time.

“Everyone’s proclivities are kind of bubbling over because we’re all caged in with each other,” she says. “Dax and I, when we started this pandemic, were at a point in our marriage where we definitely needed a little therapy brush-up.”

“Every couple of years, we’re like, ‘We’re being very antagonistic towards each other,’ and we don’t want that,” Kristen continued. “We go back to therapy and figure out what I’m not doing that’s best for you and what you’re not doing that’s best for me, and how we can serve this team goal better. It’s been incredibly helpful.”

Last year, Dax admitted that he relapsed on his sobriety and opened up about how he was making it up to Kristen, and their children, Delta and Lincoln.

Kristen has promised to stand beside him as he continues his battle.

It’s Dax Shepard‘s big day!

The CHiPs actor is getting some love from his wife Kristen Bell in honor of his 42nd birthday on Saturday (January 2).

“It’s my favorite day of the year!” the 40-year-old Veronica Mars actress wrote on Instagram. “When I get to celebrate the birth of my very favorite human on earth, and spoil him till he rots! Kristen and Dax have been married for seven years, after tying the knot in a super low-key courthouse ceremony back in October 17, 2013. They share two daughters: Lincoln, 7, and Delta, 6.
