Kid Cudi is taking over Saturday Night Live!

The 37-year-old rapper appeared on the NBC sketch comedy series as the musical guest on Saturday (April 10) in New York City.

For his first performance, Kid performed his hit song “Tequila Shots,” while wearing a green cardigan and a T-shirt that had a photo of the late SNL cast member Chris Farley on it.

Later in the evening, Kid put on a floral-print dress for a performance of his song “Sad People.” He ended the performance with a smile and a curtsy.

Fans were quick to point out on Twitter Kid was seemingly paying homage to the late Kurt Cobain with his outfit choices. Kurt famously wore the green cardigan and a floral-print dress during some of his performances back in the ’90s.

Kid‘s appearance on SNL comes several days after the anniversary of Kurt‘s death. He died by suicide back on April 5, 1994 at 27-years-old.

Earlier in the night, Kid appeared in an SNL sketch alongside one of his very famous friends!

Kurt Cobain‘s iconic guitar sold for a lot of money at auction!

The 1959 Martin D-18E played by Kurt during Nirvana‘s performance on MTV Unplugged back in 1993 sold for a record-breaking $6 million, THR reports.

The guitar was sold Australian Peter Freedman, owner of Røde Microphones, at the Music Icons event run by Julien’s Auctions on Saturday (June 20) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The bids for Kurt‘s guitar opened at $1 million before climbing all the way up to $6 million.

Kurt used the guitar to play songs including “About a Girl” and “All Apologies” during the band’s appearance on the show in November 1993 in New York City.

Kurt sadly died less than five months later at the age of 27.

Frances Bean Cobain has penned a handwritten note in honor of what would have been her late father, Kurt Cobain‘s, 50th birthday.

The 24-year-old visual artist – and only child of the Nirvana frontman and Courtney Love – took to Instagram to share her message on Monday (February 20).

“Today would have been your 50th birthday,” she wrote. “You are loved and you are missed. Thank you for giving me the gift of life. Forever your daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.”

Frances was just one year old when Kurt committed suicide back in 1994.

Courtney Love penned an emotional note to her late husband Kurt Cobain about their daughter Frances Bean more than two decades after he committed suicide.

“Makes me feel so sad. Our baby is all grown up now. Jesus Kurt look at her face, what on earth were you thinking..⁉⁉ God I miss you, we all miss you #family #memories #turnbacktime #lovehim” Courtney, 51, captioned the picture on Instagram about their daughter, who is now 23 years old.

The music icon passed away at the age of 27 back in 1994. HBO produced a documentary about his life, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, this year.
