Lorde is speaking out about her experience at the 2018 Grammys in an open letter to fans, which was published as a full-page ad in the New Zealand Herald.

The 21-year-old singer was nominated for Album of the Year, but was not invited to give a solo performance during the show. She seemingly shaded the event the next day in a tweet promoting her tour.

“Oh, hi there! I’m writing this from New York City. [My brother] Angelo and I sat in Madison Square Garden last night and saw a lot of crazy and wonderful things,” Lorde wrote in the note. “I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for loving and embracing Melodrama the way you did. My nomination belongs to you. Thank you, also, for believing in female musicians. You set a beautiful precedent! All my love, Lorde.”

At the top of the letter, Lorde wrote tiny notes like: “Met Stevie Nicks and almost cried;” “Jay-Z‘s hands are really soft;” “Melo 4ever;” and SZA with a crown over her name.

Lorde took to Twitter this morning to seemingly send a message to the 2018 Grammys, who reportedly did not invite her to give a solo performance during the annual telecast.

Rumors spread over the weekend that Lorde was the only Album of the Year nominee to not be invited to give a solo performance.

Lorde just tweeted, “IF YOU’RE DEBATING WHETHER OR NOT I CAN MURDER A STAGE… COME SEE IT FOR URSELF 😇”

When asked if it was a mistake to not have Lorde perform, Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich said, “I don’t know if it was a mistake. These shows are a matter of choices. We have a box and it gets full. She had a great album. There’s no way we can really deal with everybody.”

Sam Smith brought his beau Brandon Flynn as his date to the 2018 Grammys, held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.

The couple were seen posing in a group photo with Lorde, Janelle Monae, Camila Cabello with her sister Sofi while hanging out in the audience.

Later, Sam and Brandon were seen leaving one of the after parties together.

The 21-year-old “Green Light” singer-songwriter wore a quote attached to her back to show her support at the 2018 Grammy Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.

There are tons of theories going on as to why Lorde isn’t performing tonight, even though she’s nominated tonight for Album of the Year.

Many are wondering why Lorde is not performing at the 2018 Grammys, which are set to air tonight (January 28) live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The 21-year-old entertainer’s hit Melodrama is nominated for Album of the Year, and sources told Variety that Lorde would not be performing for a very specific reason.

Apparently, one source told the publication that Lorde was approached by the Recording Academy to perform, but it would not be a solo performance. Another source added that they wanted Lorde to be a part of a Tom Petty tribute by singing his song “American Girl.” One source also continued that the other nominees for Album of the Year, all of them male, were offered solo performances. Thus, Lorde decided to decline.

Lorde has not publicly commented on this situation, and nothing has been officially confirmed.

Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles helped honor Fleetwood Mac during 2018 Grammys Weekend!

The musicians took the stage at the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year event on Friday night (January 26) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

They were also joined by Lorde, Haim and Rachel Platten.

At the event, Harry had the chance to introduce Fleetwood Mac and sing with the group.

“There are several things I never thought I would be doing in my life. One of them is sharing the stage with these legends, let alone having the honor of introducing them to the stage,” Harry said.
