Maggie Gyllenhaal keeps it chic and sophisticated as she strikes a pose on the pink carpet at the Opera Garnier in Paris’ 350th Anniversary Gala photo call held at Opera Garnier on Wednesday (May 8) in Paris, France.

The 41-year-old The Deuce star and 57-year-old actress showed their support for the exceptional gala, in support of the 350th anniversary programme, which proposes a unique and original evening on the stage of the Palais Garnier.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is publicly calling out the writer of her interview with The Independent.

The Deuce actress took to Twitter moments ago on Thursday (March 7) to write, “To writer @PatrickHJSmith Of course you’re free to think anything you like about the “silliness” of my voice and my face. But when you open your piece in @independent commenting on that, it serves to undermine everything we spoke about.”

The opening lines of the piece are as follows: “Talking to Maggie Gyllenhaal can be a little disorienting. She has a high-pitched, cartoonish voice, which she uses to express deep things. One critic memorably said that she possessed a ‘Kewpie-doll silliness’, but maybe it’s a flaw in our culture that we expect serious thoughts to be couched in sonorous tones. ‘We live in a masculine world,’ she says, ‘and in America – especially very recently – as much as we would like to believe otherwise, it’s a misogynistic world.’”

The couple celebrated the Grand Reopening of the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort this past weekend after Hurricane Maria forced it to close back in 2017.

During the event, guests enjoyed evenings filled with champagne along with locally-inspired food and music.

Guests at the reopening also participated in volunteer opportunities and activities that give back to the community and destination through the property’s collaboration with the non-profit organization Alma de Bahia.

The weekend concluded with a fireworks display that celebrated a milestone in recovery and the return to hospitality on the island.
