James Franco walks the red carpet with his longtime love Isabel Pakzad at the season three premiere of The Deuce on Thursday night (September 5) at Metrograph in New York City.

The 41-year-old actor was also joined at the event by his co-stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Margarita Levieva, Emily Meade, David Krumholtz, Daniel Sauli, Chris Bauer, Olivia Luccardi, and Sepideh Moafi, among others.

The third and final season of the HBO series will be premiering on September 9.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is opening up about receiving a salary increase on her HBO show The Deuce so that her pay was equal to co-star James Franco.

The 41-year-old actress says that she has been paid less than her male co-star for years and she had an interesting reaction when she got parity.

“Out of the blue I got a phone call saying that HBO was going to significantly raise my salary. I am going to be totally honest here. The first feeling I had was, I felt kind of guilty,” she told SiriusXM’s John Fugelsang.

“Like I thought, ‘I just had this windfall? Wait, that’s not fair.’ That’s where I’m brainwashed. I’m like, ‘I don’t deserve this,’” Maggie continued, adding how James is a more “bankable” actor than her.

“That’s what I’ve been told for my entire career,” she said. “It took me maybe a day to go, ‘No, no, no, this is payback for a long time, when have I ever been paid the same as my male costar?’ It took me awhile to kind of clear my head.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday (September 3) and talked about the third and final season of her HBO series The Deuce, which is set to premiere on September 9.

“I’ve never played any character so long. It’s been four years,” the 41-year-old actress told Seth. “I’m sad to let her go, I really haven’t let her go yet,” “I really can pull out the Candy accent and talk like her. I do sometimes without meaning to which is silly.”

“I love her. I hope she stays with me for a long time,” Maggie added.

Maggie Gyllenhaal also talked about props and costumes she would like to steal from the show and the show’s relevance to today’s culture and politics.

Last month, Maggie made sure to support her brother Jake at the opening night of his Broadway play Sea Wall/A Life.

Supporting Jake at the event were his girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu and his older sister Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Jake and Jeanne have kept their relationship relatively low profile ever since they started dating last year. They were spotted together in Los Angeles back in late May.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is opening up about family life.

The 41-year-old The Deuce actress attended a conversation with LensCrafters moderated by The Cut‘s Beauty Editor-at-Large Jake Larkworthy on Wednesday (July 31) to discuss motherhood, wellness, and glasses and eye exams for the family.

During the chat, she revealed nearsightedness runs in the Gyllenhaal family, including mother Naomi and brother Jake.

“They had a real bond over this, like, really intense nearsightedness. And every year they would, you know, go to the doctor and they would choose frames. And so when I was 14, I was like, in on it with them,” she explained.

She also discussed parenting with Peter Sarsgaard: “Neither of us are good at math. My husband thinks that he’s better at it than me and I resent that. I do. I’m not even kidding. I mean, he isn’t. Neither of us are good at it…my husband is really the music guy. He believes that learning to read music and learning to play music is just as important as learning anything else you learn in school. I can read music like a kindergartner. I don’t have the discipline. And he really does. And he has taught both of my daughters how to play instruments.”

The 41-year-old actress was joined at the event by her The Deuce co-stars James Franco, Daniel Sauli, Sepideh Moafi, Dominique Fishback, Chris Bauer and Margarita Levieva.

Maggie, also a producer on The Deuce, recently opened up about getting questions about her collaborator James after his allegations regarding sexual misconduct.

“Yeah, that annoys me. I have been asked to answer for him and I have nothing to do with it,” Maggie expressed (via Vulture). “But I feel like it’s important to continue making the show. I feel like a political wife or something. I don’t like that.”
