Meghan McCain Calls Kanye West's Behavior 'Unhinged & Erratic' After His Presidential Run Announcement

Meghan McCain is not holding back her thoughts on Kanye West‘s potential run for President in 2020.

The View co-host tweeted out her thoughts over the weekend after Kanye made a big splash, saying he would be running for President.

“There is no woman on planet earth, celebrity or private who could behave as unhinged and erratic as Kanye has the past few years & be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. Women are punished for raising our voices on tv, let alone saying things like ‘slavery was a choice,’” Meghan posted on Sunday (July 5). At the end of her tweet, Meghan is referring to the controversial comments Kanye made about slavery being a choice.

Find out why Kanye West would be at a big disadvantage if he actually decided to go through with running.

Meghan McCain Responds to Allegations That She Was 'Unprepared' for Kamala Harris 'The View' Interview

Meghan McCain is accused of being unprepared for her interview with Senator Kamala Harris on Monday’s episode of The View.

The conversation that took place was about defunding the police amid the George Floyd protests taking place across the country.

“I just want to know from you, do you support defunding and removing American police from communities and if not, why do you think there’s such a hard time being differentiated right now between defunding and reforming?” Meghan asked the Senator.

“I think a big part of this conversation really is about reimagining how we do public safety in America, which I support,” the Senator responded. “We have confused the idea that to achieve safety you put more cops on the street instead of understanding to achieve safe and healthy communities, you put more resources into the public education system, affordable housing, home ownership, into access to capital for small businesses, access to health care regardless of how much money you have.”

“I don’t think there’s any rational American right now that doesn’t think we need to take a cold, hard look at reforming our police.” McCain then asked, “Are you for defunding the police?”

“How are you defining defunding the police?” the Senator responded.

“Well, I’m not for anything remotely for that but I assume — and again, this is something that is new to me — I assume it’s removing police,” McCain added.

The Senator then said that she wanted to allocate much of those police funds to education, mental health, job training, and others.

“Defunding the police doesn’t mean abolishing the police,” Sunny Hostin, another The View co-host, added. “It means taking some of those funds that are typically 1/3 of a budget of a city and giving some of those funds to services like mental health, education and mental health resources.”

After this interview, The View fans took to social media to call Meghan McCain unprepared.

Meghan McCain Isn't Even in NYC, Despite Saying Her Manhattan Neighborhood is 'A War Zone'

Meghan McCain recently got called out for exaggerating about the condition of her New York City neighborhood amid the protests, but it turns out she isn’t even in the city right now.

It is being reported that the 35-year-old The View co-host is currently quarantining in Virginia,” Page Six reports.

Earlier this week, Meghan tweeted that, “My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone” amid the looting in New York City. Referring to New York’s mayor and governor, respectively, she continued, “DeBlasio [sic] and Cuomo are an utter disgrace.”

Shortly after her tweet, comedy writer Kristen Bartlett replied, tweeting, “Meghan, we live in the same building, and I just walked outside. It’s fine.”

According to a source, Meghan “isn’t even in the city! She’s in Virginia at a family home.”

Meghan then took to Twitter on Wednesday (June 3) to clarify her comments about the condition of the NYC.

“1. I am six months pregnant – a gossip organization is about to run a story of where me and my family are currently,” Meghan first tweeted. “I sent a tweet yesterday based on the news I saw happening in midtown we all have been watching all over different media platforms…”

Meghan added: “2. I support the peaceful protests, their movement but am absolutely heartbroken about the destruction in the city I have loved since I moved to when I was 18. It is important to have your voice heard and I hope everyone stays safe and healthy.”

“My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone. DeBlasio and Cuomo are an utter disgrace. This is not America. Our leaders have abandoned us and continue to let great American cities burn to the ground and be destroyed. I never could have fathomed this,” Meghan wrote.

Kristen, the co-head writer on Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, wrote back with her own assessment.

Meghan, we live in the same building, and I just walked outside. It’s fine,” she said.

During her appearance, she was asked about her thoughts on Elisabeth saying we should “pray” the virus away.

“Yeah. Somebody actually sent me a screenshot of my face when she said that. I took this virus seriously from the very beginning and I thought a lot of this rhetoric was really dangerous. I think it’s really, really unfortunate and dangerous that she said that,” she said.

“I don’t need to co-host with her again, and it’s unfortunate, because I’ve been a huge fan for a long time…anybody who is screwing around with this virus and putting out misinformation, I don’t really have a lot of time for right now.”

Meghan McCain is showing some support for those involved in lockdown protests amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 35-year-old The View panelist opened up in the show’s most recent remote episode where they talked about the protests that have gone on in multiple states.

“There are a lot of people in our country who are in pain, who are out of work, who are losing their homes and I think when people are scared and they are in pain, they start to panic,” Meghan shared. “And it doesn’t look like there’s any resolution to this coming in the future.”

She added, “When people are looking down the barrel of the inability to feed their children, to send their children to college, to possibly lose their homes, I understand the anger and the pain/”

“I certainly don’t want any more people to get sick or die, obviously, I don’t think anyone wants that,” Meghan said. “But I do think there has to be some kind of balance with this.”

Just recently, there were rumors that fellow host Joy Behar was retiring from the talk show.

“My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant. Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all. I consulted with my doctors and they advised me that for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come in contact with,” she wrote.

“Starting immediately, I’ll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, I will be appearing on The View from home via satellite. I am fortunate that my employer, ABC, has allowed me and my co-hosts to work remotely. I am indebted to our producers and crew. I also want to acknowledge the heroes – the doctors, nurses, grocery and pharmacy workers, journalists, police officers, fireman and military – who are on the front lines of this fight. Please stay safe. Wash your hands and avoid public gatherings and I will continue to see you each morning on The View.”
